Keep hearing 'thunder' out in centreville, but nothing on the radar of significance. Is that luck stone? This is more continuous all morning rather than the normal one large thud.
Any thoughts welcome.

been hearing rumbling/thunder since feb 17 or so in Reston. I assumed it was airport operations though because it's dead west of Reston. heard/felt it this morning too. maybe diff than what you're talkin about.

I'm in Chantilly and haven't felt anything from our quarry (on 50 near the Sheetz in Loudoun). Are you closer to the quarry on rt 29 or the one at Gum Springs and 234 Sudley Rd?

Good call on quantico. They have a noise advisory for today for training.

Don't be alarmed by the noise and window rattling, it's just Quantico Marine Corps base. But it's not the usual artillery training.
Marines are blowing up bombs and shooting off Howitzers this week, causing more noise than usual. Residents from Gainesville to Dumfries were hearing it this evening.
"You might even see some low-flying aircraft," a public affairs spokesman said.
The munitions training continues until 11 p.m. tonight and begins again at 6 a.m. tomorrow. Expect to hear the booms through 11 p.m. again tomorrow night.
"Everything's under control," the spokesman said. "We're just trying to turn out well-trained Marines."

EXPLOSION DESTROYS GOOCHLAND, VIRGINIA HOME.
In November, 2012 Luck Stone Rockville, VA. plant used almost 14,000 pounds of explosives only 1,600 feet from my home. The explosion destroyed my house and property.
They have only lied and tried to cover the incident up. I went to Goochland County for help but was ignored as well. I spoke with numerous people from Goochland County from the County Administrator, on down. I tried to point out this has been going on for decades to Goochland residents and they had the power and authority to suspend Luck Stones business license or work together with Virginia Department of Mines and Minerals to have their blasting permits suspended or revoked until the incident has been resolved. Their was no one interested in helping my wife and I.
This forced this disabled combat veteran (US Marine) to borrow and beg for enough money for a lawyer to take Luck Stone to court.
Keep in mind living check to check forces my wife and I to live like this with the windows broken and the roof leaking etc. until the set Jury Trial 2 years down the road, Sept. 3, 4, and 5, 2014.
Are these the ethics and morals three generations of VMI graduates live by?
