The Examiner - how the F to stop getting it

Over the course of the past 1.5 years, I've called, written letters, and lodged two complaints with the BBB attempting to get them to stop delivering this junkmail. No success. Anyone else?

I called their number listed for subscriptions (even though it was free, and I never asked for delivery) and told hem to stop.

After another week and a half, I called again with date/time/name of person I spoke with and asked it stop.

Another week later, I called again and said if they continued to throw their litter in my yard, I would file a complaint with the FCPD for habitual littering (on my property). They noted I had called and asked twice and did not know why it hadn't stopped.

The next day, I had a small "mile-visibility green" dot on my mailbox, paper stopped.

Over 1/2 my community now has those colored dots on their boxes.

Perhaps you should read The Examiner. IMHO it provides pretty summaries of the news and appears to cover articles in greater depth than the Post. Seriously, am I missing something about the paper's view point or news management? I don't want to start any contentious discussions...just the facts, please. Thank you.

Uhh, because he wanted them to stop throwing it in his yard.

Do you actually read things before responding, Bob, or are do you just have problems with reading comprehension?

Hmmm, interesting. Unfortunately they just throw it in our yards around here. Maybe I'll put a dot on my fence or something. But of course my delivery guy probably wouldn't know WTF it meant.

I had it stopped because I'd leave for work travel for weeks at a time and the papers would pile up in my driveway. Nothing says "invitation for a break-in" to would-be burglars than piled up newspapers and solications in your door. -§

How did you get it to stop?

That makes sense. I wonder about the green reflector, however, as the Post uses this signal for delivery purposes.

I'm sorry that your relatives did not come over on the Mayflower. Yes, it's true, my reading comprehension is slipping, especially from your oblique posts, although, unlike you, English is my first language.

How did I get them to stop?

After the third call to the circulation desk, I called the newspaper's managing editor and complained that their circulation desk was non-responsive to my complaints and that I have created a telephonic log of my calls as evidence of non-compliance should I decide to file a claim in court. I was nice about it at first and told him that while I appreciate the free newspaper, that perhaps they should deliver via mail rather than compromising the security of my home, as well as those of my neighbors. That was about 5 mo . ago and no newspapers ever since. -§

As opposed to the green (or red) dots the Wash. Post utilizes, the Examiner places a "mile-visibility green" one on the box. It is a bit more yellow than the ones the Post places on there.
