New FILMDEX update

Filmdex plant has some activity. I saw a creepy old guy in a Hugh Hefner smoking jacket taking a ladder into one of the hotel rooms from the main house the other day. Then a girl walking around there alone this morning. ALmost like some sort of shady collaborative work starting up again. That place is a complete mess.

I check out that place every time I pass. That property has to be worth some good money. You have to wonder???

A matter of time I would think before the hotel rooms get demolished. Main house will stay for sure...

Nothing can be rebuilt on that lot. That land will go to the national park service when that building is condemned or burns. This is part of the legal agreement between the motel owners and NPS that was made when the park was established.
The land already belongs to NPS and the agreement was ment to allow the Johnson family that operated that old motel to continue to do so untill their retirement or death. From what I have heard there was a loophole in the agreement that has allowed Filmdex to use the old motel all these years.

you are full of shit. the national park service is not in the business of buying up land piece meal (unless it adjoins a NPS property). the only protected land near filmdex belongs to the fairfax county park authority. not that that matters either because the land still belongs to Ida Slattery of Filmdex.

I have hiked back there and saw signs that say "NPS boundary" so I think that other poster may be right.

The Johnson family? The property records show it belongs to a SLATTERY, and the building (all of them?) built in 1946.
