The Wax Museum was on 4th at E SW in DC. It had been the Washington Wax Museum, and still had some of the figures. Mike's SW Liquors had the wax figure of Norman Rockwell in their window.

Crazy Horse & Winston's were clip joints.

Apple Pie had some good CW & Bluegrass bands but later became a clip joint.

The Tombs and Old Mac's were the last OK bars in Georgetown. When McCooey retired & sold the Tombs to the Clyde's chain, it went downhill. Old Mac's became an 'HFSers' joint & the prices got jacked up.

Clancy's was OK. Each shift had 1 ugly girl dancing. You gave her tips b|c you felt sorry for her.

Pierce St. Annex, Flips Rickenbacker's, Gusti's; all clip joints dull of snotty cunts from the 'burbs.

Sign of the Whale: hangout for elitist prodnose asshole.

You had to have a GU ID or be with somebody who had 1 to get in the Center Pub. The Mgr. there in the mid 1970s, who was also the DJ was a real buttwipe.

The Pour House was a great place. Reasonable prices (a relative term, when discussing DC bars) and all the roasted, salted peanuts you could eat. There used to be this singer from Baltimore named Karen Goldberg on Sunday nights. She was pretty good. She's still around, but I don't know where she plays anymore.

I worked at Benny's in a band in 1970. Lived with one of the dancers as a room mate. Used to watch porn from the back side of the screen at the Butterfly. Then
moved to the Georgetown bar circuit starting with the Silver Dollar.

Back in the mid 70s a bunch of us would go to a titty bar called Fireplace somewhere around 18th street I think. Being 16 at the time it was quite a treat to see all the bouncing titties and we never got carded once. I'm sure its long gone now.
