This pic was discussed at great length previously. Folks thought he was holding a joint at first, but it is likely to be a bottle cap.
Nonetheless, as has been said MANY times, the fact that folks chose to honor a dead 18 year old at a memorial site utilizing a picture of an adolescent (under 21) holding a 40-ounce bottle (hoodlike) of beer is illustrative of the way he lived, and the way people viewed him.
Not a high school yearbook pic, not a baseball card blown up to large size. A pic of a kid with a 40.

Yo I came up with Wyatt and Will...had a similar up bringing, and I'm saying, Wyatt was a good dude. He had a good heart. Always did something to put a smile on your face. This Smith kid, I don't think I ever met.. I don't know, I can't be sure. But his brother was a fag! We used to clown him outside his job at gamestop. He was and shit still is a fucking loser. One of those people who go through life without ever having sex or even a girlfriend..just being honest, if the truth hurts, tough shit. THIS point is what you guys are missing. If Randy called him, and said "Dude, the Smith brothers are here with guns and knives, I need help!", why the hell wouldn't you call the POLICE instead of going there with a golf club? I don't care how close of a friend it is, I would be calling 911 AND THEN considering whether to get involved.
I don't know if it's some "fuck the police" mentality or what, but come on...

Scenario 1: Randy calls Wyatt, says the Smith boys have guns and knives, and are threatening him. Wyatt decides to help, shows up with a weapon of his own, and gets killed. Smith brothers end up in jail. Wyatt ends up in the ground.

Can't anyone understand that people on this board are trying to make you open your eyes and see the poor decisions made on that night by Wyatt? He used his "instinct" and joined a fight that he could have avoided by simply dialing 911.
Obviously, I don't know most of the "defenders" on this topic, but I, for one, don't want to see a FFU obituary every other day. It was a terrible tragedy that occurred, that could have been avoided with a simple phone call to the police.

I really don't see how people here could make it any more clear. Wyatt was setup, okay. But then why not contact the authorities, and state that, INSTEAD of going to the fight? What's so hard to comprehend?

A safe was always involved, just not reported in the news. The witness in front of the 7"11 saw Randys car and Randy along with David Smith and his car. If Randy is to be believed (not) Wyatt was in his car but unseen by the witness. The witness only heard David Smith. Not Wyatt. The witness didn't even know if there was another person in Randys car. Not much help so therefore that witness can't / won't be able to testify. And no, the Kingstowne Patch has not lied. They won't print Steven Smiths name but they have reported what is in the court record and public.

Wyatt did the right thing by choosing to not call the police when his friend was being attacked by armed assailants. I don't know what possessed me to think that he should have done anything other than grab a weapon and run into a back alley for a knife fight. It wasn't Wyatt's stupid decision to get into a totally avoidable knife fight that got him killed, it was the guy who stabbed him!
No wait, it wasn't the Smith kid that killed him, it was the knife. If knives were outlawed, then Smith wouldn't have had one, and Wyatt would still be alive today.
Friends and family of Wyatt, I implore you to write to your congressmen and senators and ask, no, DEMAND that they push the government to outlaw knives of all kinds. Only then can our children be safe from violence.
Congratulations on your teen pregnancy. Please, please, please, when your kid is old enough, tell them that they should NEVER call the police if a friend is in trouble, and that they must ALWAYS grab a weapon and run to their friend's aid. It's just the right thing to do.

I've glanced through the majority of posts here and I wanted to make a few things clear:

2. No one deserves to die, especially like this
I know some of the people involved in the murder (to be specific, they were with Wyatt and attempted to defend him). Long story short, Wyatt had ripped off Steven Smith in a drug deal (weed, for those of you who don't consider it a "drug"). Steven later saw him at the Rose Hill 711 and called his older brother. He followed/led Wyatt and his friends to the Rose Hill apartments, where a fight ensued. It started off with just fists, but then a golf club was introduced to the back of one of my friend's heads. Wyatt then got out of the car to defend his fallen friend, where he was maliciously stabbed for what probably amounted to no more than $60 worth of marijuana. It was senseless, over-the-top, and needless-to-say, unnecessary. But if you're going to rip people off, you better be prepared to deal with consequences. Wyatt did not deserve this, but his own actions led to his own demise. And one more note: Steven's older brother deserves just as much blame in this.

You are wrong Kc. That isn't what happened at all. The only person injured was Wyatt. No one was hit in the head. There wasn't a fist fight at the apartments. Wyatt's murder occurred by the condos. Wyatt did NOT know they were out there at all. Randy, tone, and the smiths ambushed that kid and killed him in cold blood. He did not know he would have to defend himself because he didn't know there was going to be a fight with or without weapons. Quit listening to tone and david. Of course they are not going to admit their complicity in this murder. Ask them what randy did and where he was for the 30 minutes it took him to arrive at the hospital. Ask them why randy didn't drive himself instead of parking his own car and asking someone to drive him to tone's girlfriend's house. Ask them why tone gave the wrong name at the ER. Ask them what they did with the safe. And don't spread bullshit.

Ok. Nothing in the news or court record about a drug deal gone bad or a drug theft gone bad. Nothing in the news or court record about either tone or randy getting hit in the head with a golf club or even fists for that matter. Nothing in the court record or news about ANYONE getting hit in the head with ANYTHING. I am not sure why you would think anonymous (correct spelling for the grammar police) is even close to what really happened. I saw randy and tone that night. Randy did not want to go to the hospital at all. He changed his clothes and his story. What he told the police was different from what he told the friend who drove him. Wyatt trusted randy because he had known him all his life. But Wyatt didn't know randy knew the smiths. Look up randy taylors record. Possession with intent to distribute. Wyatt doesn't have a record. Proven by law that randy is a dealer but only the friends of the smiths and randy suggest that Wyatt had marijuana. Not even the smiths say in court records that this murder was about marijuana. Randys ex was a good friend of Wyatt and randy couldn't stand it so he set him up using the smiths. Try again to salvage your argument. Maybe you can justify what those 4 did to that kid and his family but we can't. Bad things happen to good people sometimes. Just because you won't acknowledge evil in this county doesn't mean it isn't there. Keep bashing this kid if it makes you feel safer, just pray that you don't cross either the smiths or randy. Don't cut them off in traffic or take their parking spot or even look at them wrong. Because we now know what they can and will do. One hour a week just isn't ever going to do the job. You need the full time help of a group of professionals to get you through your illness and on to the road to mental recovery.

Your hitting on 3 points that I was the orig poster in the 1st thread to point out. Unfortunately posters like Meth.. AKA fisty and a few other AKAs spent a lot of time trying to start flame wars and discustingly enough tried to disrespect the freinds and greiving family of Wyatt Campbell for whatever sick reason,,,,
At the same time (a few - not many) associates of the Smiths tried to slander Wyatt's reputation.
There is so much misinformation on these threads that assuming anything said here is a fact is just goning to bring out somebody to argue with you. Most of the people with the strait scoop are not going to devulge the info while a trial is in progress. Your speculations and congesture of the info given here is only making things here more delusioanal and harder for people reading these threads to collect any idea of what took place.

Today is May 13 and if my records are correct Wyatt Campbell would have turned 19 on this date. To his familly and freinds, I am deeply saddened and feel for your loss. It's obvious that Wyatt was a stand up guy and will be missed by many.

Your hitting on 3 points that I was the orig poster in the 1st thread to point out. Unfortunately posters like Meth.. AKA fisty and a few other AKAs spent a lot of time trying to start flame wars and discustingly enough tried to disrespect the freinds and greiving family of Wyatt Campbell for whatever sick reason,,,,
At the same time (a few - not many) associates of the Smiths tried to slander Wyatt's reputation.
There is so much misinformation on these threads that assuming anything said here is a fact is just goning to bring out somebody to argue with you. Most of the people with the strait scoop are not going to devulge the info while a trial is in progress. Your speculations and congesture of the info given here is only making things here more delusioanal and harder for people reading these threads to collect any idea of what took place.
Please make your 3 points specific. They maybe invaluable to others, but please don't feed Meth.

no, i interpret the fact that friend/family created a memorial photo of a kid doing an illegal action as representative of that kid's lifestyle. I've never seen anything like that particular photo in my life and neither have others who I've shown the photo to....................

You brought up various family members of Wyatt - and I stated that he should have thought about them before he went out the door that day. Dunno WTF yr talking about "everybody". Friday May 13 should have been Wyatt J Campbells 19th Birthday. Bystander I learned awhile back that you can debate and agrue with these dumb asses till you blue in the face, They are going to believe what they want too, for all we know they are related to the killer. For all you jackasses that seem to think you just know all about Wyatt and his life and the kind of person he was all you are doing is making yourselfs look like stupid retarded assholes. So what there was a picture of Wyatt goofing around holding a beer he was 18 and on his own property jackasses. and wearing a nice shirt and jeans far cry from a ganstas outfit dont ya think?? This pic was discussed at great length previously. Folks thought he was holding a joint at first, but it is likely to be a bottle cap.
Nonetheless, as has been said MANY times, the fact that folks chose to honor a dead 18 year old at a memorial site utilizing a picture of an adolescent (under 21) holding a 40-ounce bottle (hoodlike) of beer is illustrative of the way he lived, and the way people viewed him.
Not a high school yearbook pic, not a baseball card blown up to large size. A pic of a kid with a 40.

@weird - I'm more fascinated by the fact yr getting something sexual out of this pic - now THAT'S fucking weird...................
never seen so many ppl ashamed over a pic that they themselves took as a memorial before.
then again, I've never seen ppl think it's weird to not like kids fighting behind shopping centers in their county, either............o_0

i get absolutely nothing from this picture except sorrow for his friends and family that have to deal with perverts like you who think it is natural and normal to keep and flash a picture of a dead child to their friends. it is you who whips out this picture whenever you can't think of an intelligent response, which seems to be quite often. There is no one who knows Wyatt who is ashamed of any pictures taken of him. You are the obsessive one about this picture. Oh, and two other things, we have not defended the actions of the smiths fighting, we just know that wyatt did not intend to fight, and two, he is holding the bottle cap in his hand. Lift your eyes from his crotch and see what else you might have missed
