As a newcommer to the area, I would love to get feedback from parents/students about Langley High School? Good/bad, hard/easy, drugs, violence, etc you name it, I am all ears.

Drugs are at any high school. Solid sports and one of the top public high schools in the country. It's been ranked in the top 100 high schools many times. For a public school you can do a lot worse.

If you can afford to live in Langley, you can afford to send your kids to private school.

Langley is more of a bubble than any other FCPS school. There are no poor kids there and the Langley kids are very aware of their own wealth.

There are definitely more drugs there than at most FCPS schools. Violence is mostly of the frat-boy variety. So Langley seniors get away with harassing Langley freshmen every fall "to break them in," and they go over to McLean HS every now and then and trash that school, since they know their Mommies and Daddies will have a good chuckle and pay the repair bill.

Spoiled Stepford kids. Mommy and Daddy expect them to be the model of popular and successful people. They CANNOT have problems of any kind. Plenty of drug use there, and the teachers/administration are under considerable pressure to not upset the Very Important Parents in this prestigious community.

Look up Langley's "Color Day," where the students vandalize the school. It's a primitive bonding ritual, apparently!

Because many students live so far from Langley, some people tried to move the start times for the high schools much later so the students would have additional time to drive their expensive European cars to school. It's tough to do on those morning that those twisting back roads have ice. That's why FCPS cancels school so often.
