I will say this - The Washington Post only cares about this story because Truro is a conservative church. If this scandal were happening in one of the area's more liberal congregations (you dastardly Presbyterians, I'm looking at you! ;) ), this story would have never been written.

In 2006, the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency came up with a list of more than 5,000 Pentagon employees suspected of viewing child pornography. The Pentagon was asked to review the list, but only checked about two-thirds of the names.

Pentagon investigators came up with about 300 defense and intelligence employees who had allegedly looked at explicit images of children on their work or home computers.

The investigators left 1,700 names on the list unchecked, defense officials have told Grassley.

Unless it involves child pornography, which is illegal for good reasons, all humans, regardless of profession, are going to make mistakes, or for those more into religion, we are all sinners. Big fucking deal, a minister looking at porn. There's nothing wrong with porn, as we are all biologically "sexually wired creatures' anyhow. Just my two cents.

Yeah, I don't understand this at all - surfing news/weather sites or work-related sites I can easily see, but anything at ALL inappropriate just seems totally weird.

Everyone lies if they say they have never even looked at porn on the internet. Maybe even only once or twice. I say if you want to look and you are an adult you should look only on your home computer. That is what got him in trouble.

I have a friend who works internet security and he had to escort out a top exec for surfing porn on the internet at work. He was making well over $200,000 a year. We wonder what he told his wife.

Nobody said they have never looked at porn but it takes an idiot to look at porn at work and special kind of idiot to look at child porn in a government facility... Can't they wait until they get home or do they have some sort of work related fetish?

I've been very involved with this church for about 9 years and am 18 years old. I also have next to no religious beliefs. Marshall is an awsome guy and has helped TONS of people (including me) through so many difficult situations. Chill out people hes not some crazy pedo. Anyone who knows him would in a second tell you how great of a person he is. People watch porn every day its not some horrific crime like you all make it out to be. The fact that he was using the churches computers for it is wrong, and he has been rightly fired but is still being fully supported by both the rest of the clergy at the church and the congregation. Again, I have become involved in this church because of my family, not by my choice, but because of the people there like Marshall, I have not left.

If you ever read this Marshall don't let these people bring you down. The people who know you can understand and have your back 100%.
