Concorde District Football

From 2000 to 2007 the Concorde District placed a team in the finals of the AAA Division 6:

2000 - Centreville (W)
2001 - Robinson (W)
2002 - Oakton (L)
2003 - Westfield (W)
2004 - Robinson (L)
2005 - Oakton (W)
2006 - Chantilly (L)
2007 - Westfield (W)

+ In 2008 Oakton made the Semi-Finals losing to eventually winner Oscar Smith.

But in 2009 and 2010 - no team from Concorde made the semi-finals.

So is this a fluke or a trend? What can we expect next year?

Well Lake Braddock had a fantastic offensive player and a deep roster which bucked the trend. With Nebrich out of the picture now, I see a Concorde team easily winning the region and being a contender in states.

Chantilly has to be a favorite, but Centreville was very young and talented, Westfield will never be bad, Robinson is always strong as is Oakton and even Herndon will take major strides as they started almost all sophmores last year. It would not be a major suprise if anyone except Herndon won the state championship, but my money is on Chantilly. Not only do they have their two headed running attack back for another year, but wait until you see the running backs coming up the program right now.

They got fantastic backs on freshmen and jv and got a national all-star coming to play for them next year.

Sorry for the lack of clarity, he is playing at some sort of all-american game for 8th graders in Texas. From everything I've heard this kid is a beast in football and will be the best back in Chantilly's history. He has also supposedly won the County MVP award for travel basketball each year.

It's all about Westfield in 2011. But got some spring championships to take home before the boys of fall come back.

Don't get your hopes to high on having Cam coming to Chantilly next year. The kid is the real deal and will be an elite athlete both in Basketball and Football. He is far above and beyond the talent pool for his age group. However, private schools in this area are going after him as well. Rumor has it that he will be attending either DeMatha or PVI.

Cameron Vaughn is his name. You can find some highlights on youtube or check the Army Youth All-American game in San Antonio, TX. In all honesty, he will be better than Torrain Pace. Torrain was a great kid, student, and athlete. Don't take anything away from him, but Cam is way above where Torrian was at this age. It will be great to watch him grow and play HS sports. Unfortunately, he won't be playing for any public schools.

While there is no word either way, I have heard that Cameron really likes his friends a lot and has played for Chantilly area teams his whole life, including years of Chantilly football and basketball.

Chantilly also always boasts winning teams with a large pool of talent and I think he wants to be great for the Chargers. Would it suprise me if he went to private school? no. But I expect him to go to Chantilly.

Is this kid related to Chris Vaughn? If so, that family has been Chantilly stalwarts for years.
