Cavalier Telephone sucks

Phones have been out all day today. Reportedly, there was a fire at a power grid in DC, which brought down CavTel's service to the VA-MD-DC area.

CavTel has put no notice on their web site, and their phone numbers are all down as well so I can't even use my cell to get through to their 800 number to hear the pre-recorded outage message.

I use cavtel, and while I agree it is crap overall, it is no worse today for my service than usual...I've been making calls all day?

Wow. My company's dialup internet is down around the region because of this. Thank god we still have the main (verizon) line but that only serves 703.

Any incomming calls get the "Sorry, all circuits are busy now"

Oh and to call our offices to complain about the outage you have to go through this nice "virtual pbx" that aptela does for us which of course goes over a damn cavalier line.

Shitty.

No kidding. We were able to get in touch with a sales rep at one point, and she was using her cell phone to call us back and let us know what was going on. Bless her heart for doing that.

I've been in the "support / repair chat" queue since before 11:00am. I had 76 people in front of me, and now have 7 left. I almost feel bad for the support reps, considering the crap I'm sure they've heard today.

On the subject of utilities crapping out, anyone besides me have their Cox High-speed Internet service crap out at random times all over the weekend. It died on Friday, Sat and twice on Sunday. Cox admitted they were having technical difficulties in “Northern Virginia” when I called, but failed to give any details or if they knew what was broken to fix.

This was in the Herndon High school area, and I know a friend in the Fox Mill area had the same problem

STILL FUCKING DOWN. The latest story is that the switch was up this afternoon between 3 and 5 (ha!) and it's back down now. CavTel can kiss my ass. Their utter lack of care for their clients is amazing and their lack of information clearly shows their misunderstanding of the impact this has on their clients.

My connection has been doing that too, including today. It started working again around 13:00. PITA.

Our company uses Cavalier for our T-1s and for our PBX service so we were dead in the water with both phones and internet.

I also had a problem with cox cable on monday for about 20-45 minutes or so, but I didn't try it on the weekend. I'm in the Vienna/Merrifield area.
