i have a prior record of speeding 25/35 nd some minor tickets like following too closely, failed to yield right of way with a current total points on my dmv report of -8. i was caught on fairfax county parkway for 70/45 nd for not having a child seat. i explained the police officer dat my sister was standing at the bus stop with her baby nd she did not have any money so there was no one to help her out nd then when she called me i came to pick her up but obviously i did not have a car seat with me since i am not the one who picks her up nd i was not able to buy 1 since it wud be too late after i buy 1 nd get there. when i got to pick her up, ma sis was having a breathing problem so i was trying to go to hospital when he caught me but after dat he just told me to go home as it is not safe to drive without a safety device with a child at this speed. i completely understand wat i did was wrong but wat else i cud have done ? wat shud i do now ? shud i hire a lawyer ?

Sounds like you have a pretty good case, I would get a lawyer and beat that shit in court, hopefully you get your court date before Christmas when the judges are feeling generous. They dissmiss this kind of stuff all the time.

I would have your sister and the kids come to court with you, put a human face on the situation if you know what I mean. Tell the judge you have a safety seat now and explain.
