A friend of mine is interested in moving into Fairfax county. They are concerned about the cost of living, crime, and dealing with mean drivers.
What about Fairfax can I tell them that might make it more appealing?
I can think of one so far:
1-95 South that leads to Richmond.

Considering they are from Richmond I assume they will be looking into public housing and not homes for sale.

Fairfax County is one of the wealthiest USA counties and offers a number of advantages to living here:
1. The county has a diverse population.
2. Its residents have attained higher levels of education.
3. We enjoy a well-run county and well-run state.
4. Weather is generally mild and seasonal.
5. Within a few miles there are hundreds of fine restaurants.
6. The county has excellent schools and universities.
7. Every imaginable store is nearby (grocery, Costco, Wal*Mart, Whole Foods, Wegmann's, etc.).
8. The police force is one of the best in the nation.
9. You live near the nation's capital and its fine museums, monuments, etc.
10. Mountains, lakes, farms, oceans, rivers, gaming, are just a few hours away.
11. High levels of professional employment opportunities--as well as support services.
12. Three major airports are available for travel.
13. Major hospitals and medical care are available.

I am a horribly mean driver. If you try getting into my lane, and you are crossing over a solid line to do so, then I will honk at you. If you tailgate me, then I will slow down to 5-10 below the speed limit. Then, when you try to pass me I will speed up so that you get back behind me. I had a friend of mine visit from Oregon and he was actually scared to
go in to DC proper. I tried to explain to him that it was nothing like
whatever his impression was (former murder capital of the US and
whatnot), but he wouldn't budge. Oh well, C'est la vie.
