SO what are the thoughts on the Senator and his bathroom adventures in which he was arrested in June; criminally charged; pled guilty (in writing and admitting to the officer's version of the events; in August) and he received a 10 days jail sentence which was suspended . . yet the learned Senator never told a sole; not even his wife; his staff; his mother or any other relative or a lawyer!

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationworld/chi-craig_boxaug29,1,1950352.story

In its story today about Craig's arrest, the Statesman revealed that it had uncovered evidence of other Craig liaisons or sexual advances, including allegations that he had sex with a man in a Union Station bathroom in Washington, D.C., but had not previously reported it. "Until Monday, the Statesman had declined to run a story about Craig's sex life, because the paper didn't have enough corroborating evidence and because of the senator's steadfast denial."

But the paper also revealed, "Over five months, the Statesman examined rumors about Craig dating to his college days and his 1982 pre-emptive denial that he had sex with underage congressional pages. The most serious finding by the Statesman was the report by a professional man with close ties to Republican officials. The 40-year-old man reported having oral sex with Craig at Washington's Union Station, probably in 2004. The Statesman also spoke with a man who said Craig made a sexual advance toward him at the University of Idaho in 1967 and a man who said Craig "cruised" him for sex in 1994 at the REI store in Boise. The Statesman also explored dozens of allegations that proved untrue, unclear, or unverifiable."

Ya know, I have nothing against the homosexual community and am in fact jealous that they have so many subtle ways to communicate that they want to have sex. Crap, why can't the hetero community get their shit together and put out a book to convey the same info so we can avoid all the awkward dancing (and billions of dollars wasted on by guys on buying chicks drinks that lead nowhere)

Yeah yeah, the 50 something year old guy here that gets his knob polished regularly by a wide array of single attractive geriatrics has already written one.

Yeah this whole thing is kind of disgusting, and his version of the story does nothing to dissuade me from believing he was there to hook up. But I do have two comments/questions:

1) They keep saying that "he placed his bag up against the door of the stall, which is a common thing for (these perverts) to do". Huh? Where the hell else would you put your bag? Next to the toilet in a pool of urine? Or perhaps the police think you should leave it next to the sink so someone can take it? That makes zero sense.

2) I'm struck by the irony that if he had exhibited the exact same type of behavior in the airport terminal (or the airport bar), he would have been guilty of nothing more than being creepy. Apparently the bathroom is a 'creep-free' zone (which is fine by me).

I think everyone needs to abide by 'the rules' while in the bathroom. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IzO1mCAVyMw

Not a creep free zone, but a zone where one would expect a reasonable amount of privacy. Sitting in a airport bar or terminal or grocery store one can not expect that you are surrounded by the cone of silence. While I can not tell you what each state or federal law says, most of the time it is interpreted as you can do almost anything once - try your best pick up line, offer a mild game of footsie etc. Once you are asked to stop and "go away creep would be a good example - and if you continue to persist - then it may become criminal.

The same applies to sexual harassment in the workplace. In reality, most people are given one free pass. If you say to a girl "your smoking hot!" and she says "I am a vegetarian and I don't appreciate that" or something similar, then you must stop. If you continue to make comments and drool every time she bends over to get a glass of water from the cooler - then it becomes sexual harassment.

But, if one has a reasonable expectation of privacy - in their home, in a private office, sitting on a toilet with old glory hanging out, then the interpretation of the rules become much more stringent.

While these may not be the letter of the law, I can tell you that this is generally how these laws are interpreted.
