Do you have to get a scanner to listen, or is it online as well?

Clearly, today is the exception to the law.
But, I saw an employee at Giant bagging groceries with a hockey mask on. Some people, man.

"It shall be unlawful for any person over sixteen years of age while wearing any mask, hood or other device whereby a substantial portion of the face is hidden or covered so as to conceal the identity of the wearer, to be or appear in any public place, or upon any private property in this Commonwealth without first having obtained from the owner or tenant thereof consent to do so in writing. However, the provisions of this section shall not apply to persons (i) wearing traditional holiday costumes..." Va. Code Ann. § 18.2-422.

Note the first exception.

And a felony...WTF VA? That's gay.

Cellmate: "So what are you in for?"

You: "I wore a mask on a day other than Halloween"

Cellmate: "Surprise, it's buttspecks time!!!"

You can wear masks when it's cold or snowy too, obviously.

Not according to the letter of the law.

"However, the provisions of this section shall not apply to persons (i) wearing traditional holiday costumes; (ii) engaged in professions, trades, employment or other activities and wearing protective masks which are deemed necessary for the physical safety of the wearer or other persons; (iii) engaged in any bona fide theatrical production or masquerade ball; or (iv) wearing a mask, hood or other device for bona fide medical reasons upon (a) the advice of a licensed physician or osteopath and carrying on his person an affidavit from the physician or osteopath specifying the medical necessity for wearing the device and the date on which the wearing of the device will no longer be necessary and providing a brief description of the device, or (b) the declaration of a disaster or state of emergency by the Governor in response to a public health emergency where the emergency declaration expressly waives this section, defines the mask appropriate for the emergency, and provides for the duration of the waiver. The violation of any provisions of this section shall constitute a Class 6 felony." Va. Code Ann. § 18.2-422.

I see no "it's old out and my nose is chilly exception," do you?

Eggs being thrown isn't as innocent as it might sound. Wait until you get a nice paint job ruined because of such an act. As for pumpkin smashing, yeah, some of my friends used to do that garbage, but it can really wreck a little kid's day (My neighbor's daughter was pretty upset when it happened the pumpkin she had picked out).

That's comfort, not protection. Protection would refer to things like welding masks to protect from sparks and UV rays, dust masks to protect you from inhaling small particles and damaging your lungs, masks and breathing apparatuses for firefighters to protect from smoke inhalation, etc.

See the difference?

I'm still trying to find that little bastard who bent my "Vote for Keith Fimian" sign in my front yard. You'd think that by giving the punks some candy would mean that they'd respect someone's property, but I guess not.

Next year, I'll just turn out the lights, head downstairs and watch Steven Segal movies for the evening. Good times ahead.

Check this news out from Atlanta ...

ATLANTA — Authorities say a driver enraged because a 17-year-old boy egged his Mercedes on Halloween fatally shot the prankster in the neck and leg as he tried to run away.

Atlanta police spokeswoman Kim Jones says the driver confronted the teen and fired 10 shots at him around 8 p.m. Sunday. The Fulton County Medical Examiner's office says the teen, Tivarus King, died as he was being taken to Grady Memorial Hospital.

Officers who were dispatched to the scene in northwest Atlanta spotted a car fitting the vehicle's description and detained the driver. But Atlanta Police spokesman Curtis Davenport said that person was arrested on traffic charges that were not linked to the shooting.

He said police are still investigating the case and searching for suspects.

I saw that, another example of over reacting with tragic results. My son's friend threw eggs at his car a couple of times as a prank. We washed it off with the hose. No big deal.
