I think there a couple of 24 Home Depots but I'm not sure which ones.

I use to think there were 24/7 Home depots too but I've never seen one.

The Home Depot on West Ox was 24/7 for about six months, but the labor costs and low revenue volume really killed them. Plus, if you happened to try shopping late, around 11:30, the sales associates were absolute morons. Not that the regular staff are the sharpest knives in the drawer, but unless you knew EXACTLY what you wanted you were screwed. Plus, if they ever had a problem with the one open POS register you were totally screwed since they had no idea how to get the thing working again.

On the plus side, the guy working in the custom millwork department made a mess of my window order and undercharged me by more than $4000. We were adding a large sunroom with lots of glass and none of the windows were a stock size. The computerized pricing system was down, so he had to do the calculations by hand using a telephone book-sized manual. The $8500 price seemed a lot less than the (non-written) quote from a week earlier, but the item list and sizes looked right so I signed the agreement and paid with my HD credit card. The next day I received a call from the department manager asking some questions about the order, confirming that I really wanted these items before he sent it in for fabrication. I got the sense that he was trying to get me to make a change or cancel so that he could rewrite the order, but I would not bite. I asked if there was a problem and he told me that I got a great deal and he would need to do some retraining with his staff.

Everything arrived as promised three weeks later without a single problem, but I think that this type of incident happened too often in the 24/7 stores.

I wish the hell that the Home Despot/Lowe's ratio was reversed. Lowe's is a MUCH better outfit....but there's way too few of them around here. The staff is 10x better, stores are much cleaner and better stocked.

And they never have a goddamn forklift parked right in front of the stuff I came in for....HD ALWAYS does! LOL

Agreed on that one. damn HD peopel always park it in front of the lumber section i need to get to. I tried to find a guy to move it once but they said they needed a certain person to move it who was trained and he was having a smoke or somthing. I moved it myself about 10 feet (hey they left the keys in it, when you leave your keys in teh car it gets stolen right?) and they kicked me out of the store.

Yeah, HD is a joke. IF they don't have the aisle blocked or a forklift in front of what you are shopping for, they are sure to be out of the other shit you came for. That place sucks and their employees are morons.

I agree on the fact that closing a whole aisle to restock a couple of items is stupid. I went there once to get a new snow shovel. It was snowing outside, go figure. They had the entire aisle with the snow shovels fenced up? I ignored the orange fence stuff and one of the Home Depot guys went balistic.

It was a 20 minute fiasco to get a snow shovel from the fenced aisle and included two employees and a store manager for a solution. I wrote HD management a letter about it.

Why don't they restock after hours??????

The only thing I like about Home Depot is Tanya. She is a cashier at the HD at Rt 236 and Braddock Rd. Young, maybe 19-20, blonde, and speaks with an accent (German, Scandinavian, or maybe Russian?)....and ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!

Whenever she's working...I'll forget something, so I can go back through her line again! LOL

Try ordering a new fiber door with side lights. After an hour with HD rep, several phone calls to the manufacturer, consultation with other employees, I gave up. BTW when I checked the Internet on HD complaints, I found a large number, especially on front door replacements, whereby HD send customers to manufacturer to complain and the manufacturer said that HD was responsible... Any one know of an honest, reliable, and skilled outfit for front door and side lights?
