The Congregation of FFXU. We're the behind-the-scenes folks who actually run this joint. You don't know who we are IRL, and you never know where we'll appear, but rest assured, we are there.

There's a Scientology mission in Alexandria and then they have that "church" in DC. Those people are about as weird as it can get.

cults are real, and they are hardly something to joke about. They control peoples lives, and ruin their souls for eternity. Cults are usually not distinguished with an open sign that they are a "cult" ... it is usually subtle, until its too late. Local cults include the "mormans, Jehovah witnesses, Scientology missions, Christian science, And Falun Gong, but also churchs that are less subtle like this one..

My Dear Ol' Ma was shocked to find out that The Worldwide Church of God she belonged to (for like three decades) was considered a cult. She didn't even THINK about such things until, for whatever reason, she woke up.

'Course, it was WAY too late by then.

I worked with a guy who was taking down names of the dead to convert to Mormonism (baptism by proxy). I believe they hit up the descendants for a 10% tithe as that is an absolute requirement of their church

10 or 15 years ago I used to see Caucasians dressed in white robes and turbans around. The men had beards like Sikhs. I haven't seen any in years, and the one in my neighborhood shaved his beard and cut his hair.

I don't know that it was a cult, but it was odd.

No but a buddy of mine did, i went to a "group"meeting with him, weird shit, they wanted me to tell them that combat had fucked up my head and i needed to cry with them, share and they would help me get better. I told them to fuck off, i liked war, grabbed my buddy and left. It was at night out in the woods somewhere around a fire. I carry, so if any of them got near me the rest of them would have a new story to share and cry about. Co-dependent assholes.

There is a very exclusive social group of "alchemists" who meet each year. Two of the last "happenings" were at locations in Fairfax county.

They used to be very spiritual and heavy on the incense but for the most part its become a social club for horny rich people with a flair for skulls and compasses. To the practitioners the rituals have become just an excuse for unprotected group sex and spreading gossip in fancy clothing.

Now it would be a stretch to call it a cult in its current form however it started out as a gathering of people waiting for the "illumination"

Art of Living seems to still be active in Alexandria, if you want to give $400 away and spend a few weekends doing exercises like being partnered with someone to inanely ask "Who are you?" back and forth. And you learn secret yogic breathing techniques that you can probably get for free on YouTube. And you get exercises like having to tell about a difficult person in yr life and if it sets off a crying jag for you, no prob, you can sit on the floor and cry while the others wait you out and chat amongst themselves in Bengali or whatever.

The cult of Global Warming Zealotry. They're a lot like the idiots who gather and wait for aliens to come pick them up. Every dire prediction they've ever made has failed. In fact, it's hard to imagine that any cult group could have a worse record of failed predictions.

there is a society for the ethical and profitable use of the arcane astral alchemical arts. the 4A have members here in the fairfax county area. we do not have a building to go look for. you will not find our "book" if you want to be one you will have already met a "magus" the middle tier of belonging. only a magus will tell you about how to progress in the art. once you become initiated and learn how to read the heiroglyphs of alchemy science and power. then you are allowed to go to the happening.

at the happening we discuss how to manipulate all the forms of energy known as the hands of god. the other benefit is that becoming a member means you are also given the tools needed to completely ghost out of the world and a parcel of gold. whatever the glyph reads on the bar is how to identify your guide member a person in the higher order responsible to keep you from using your power for evil and responsible for preventing poverty. as we found over the years the root of evil is not money but the lack there of. you might see us in a church or temple but unless you know what the glyphs mean you wont know we are there.
