Redskins Pre-Season

I've been watching the Redskins/Titans pre-season opener. The defense looks great, but the offense is looking pretty weak. Jason Campbell has a rifle for an arm, but his accuracy is WAY off. Maybe it is nerves, but he keeps over-throwing receivers. Also, losing the ball twice on the sacks wasn't too re-assuring.

they look absolutely pathetic tonight..the starting defense looked good..but the offense couldn't score againt a high school team the way they are playing

i stand corrected..the backups who will most likely see no playing time managed to pull out a victory..at least the backups can feel good about the way they played tonight

I don't consider it a win. The fourth-string running back scored on a 1-yard run, and some guy on defense recovered a fumble in the end zone. They got lucky.

The O-line looked like swiss cheese. Campbell will spend alot of his time on his back this yr. SKINS 6-10

Campbell has a tendency to hold onto the ball too long. I think Al Saunders is trying to respond to critics and call more long-yardage plays. The problem with that is you have to have an O-line that can hold the defense and you have to have a quarterback who can move around in the pocket, bootleg or throw to a hot receiver when he sees the blitz. Apparently the Redskins have neither.

All I know is I'm pissed off. I like to listen to Big 100 Oldies on Saturday night as I disassemble a case of beer.

I tune in tonight....and what's on? DannyBoy and the Jewskins!

So I switched down to WAMU for some Big Band shit until Bluegrass Overnight came on.

Seems to me that the O-Line held up really well when the Steelers almost did a Joe Theismann on Campbell.

They played better last night. But you noticed Todd Collins would get rid of the ball quickly to Cooley when the blitz was on while Campbell still tended to hold onto it too long.

Looking impressive in the pre-season isn't the same as looking impressive in the regular season. Though Collins knows the system and can find a hot receiver in a blitz, he doesn't have the arm that Campbell does. I don't think it would take long for other teams to start covering the flats and slants, forcing Collins to throw deep, which he may not be able to do very well against strong secondaries. I think the only QB controversy will be between Brunell and Collins at #2. I think it should be Collins, but who knows.

Get ready for a 4-12 season at best. Gibbs and his boys are out of their league.
Can't you fools see Gibbs was only after the 5 million a year to support his NASCAR team, and sweeten up his buddies retirement funds. Snyder bought the farm on this one, but he will still get your money, Redskin fans are so stupid.... in fact all the NFL fans (suckers) are stupid.
Thanks for plastering your cars with stickers that inform me of this fact. The NFL is screwed up because half the guys are nice all American type and half are dirty, selfish over paid goons who would have very little success in life if it weren't for suckers like you who fill their pockets with cash.

Dan Snyder would be perfectly happy with a 4-12 season this year. He has already talked to Bill Cowher and plans to hire him for next season for some ungodly sum of money. A shitty season will simply give him a good excuse to do so. Then, Bill Cowher can come here and be the same kind of over-paid flop that Schottenheimer, Spurrier and Gibbs turned out to be. Why? Because the problem with the team is Vinny Cerrato, not the coaches. Cerrato has a real knack for finding big name talent just as they are breaking down and paying an assload of money to them while trading future Hall of Famers like Champ Bailey over nickel and dime bullshit.

While not Brunell's fault, it's interesting that he can still step into a game and throw interceptions. Now that's talent!

I predicted this to a friend the day Cowher announced his retirement.
