Furniture Repair for Broken Recliner
Posted by: Lester Burnham ()

The handle that you pull to make one of the seats in my sectional sofa recline snapped off of the cable and I cannot figure out how to fix it. The problem seems to be that I cannot feed the cable all the way through the guide since it is normally under some tension.

I am sure that with the proper know-how and tools this is a 20-30 minute repair, but I need some help. The furniture repair shops that I have used for things like broken table legs and the like do not work on large upholstered items. Can anyone recommend someone who could repair this in my home?

Thanks!

my home shop in fairfax is between the garden center and the west ox interchange. I had my la-z-boy repaired there.

Mr. Burnham,

I don't know if he is still in business but try Home Furniture medic in the yellow pages. He fixed my wall unit from Scan.

Have you tried using duct tape or epoxy on it?
