10 deer crossing jermantown road

So cruising home from watching the game Sunday on the Jermantown about 12:20 am Sunday night no other traffic and what to my wondering eyes do I see but a whole gaggle of deer crossing the road. Having hit a deer before I stopped the car and let them all cross. Really man when you're seeing groups of deer numbering 10 or more in a residential area something needs to be done.

I have been doing some work in the same area mentioned at the start of the thread and I noticed a similar thing. THere are a ton of deer in the Vienna Wolftrap area. If you drive around at dusk you will see at least 20-30 deer around.

It would be nice if there were areas that you were allowed to hunt. There is just no where in that area that allows for it.

The only predators are cars for the deer. It is a lose, lose situation. The deer will starve themselves over the winter and the people have to deal with property damage and also potential bodily injury when they encounter one of these deer.

When I see a herd like that, I usually stop my car diagonally in the street Jason Stratham-style, jump out and pull my semi-auto assault-style rifle from the trunk (the 7.62x39 SKS with the 3X tactical scope and collapsible stock) and go to town, bump firing on those motherfuckers until the herd scatters or I've got enough venison to feed the local homeless shelter.

Like...stop building un-necessary housing that attracts more and more people making traffic worse and worse.

If you go to the Oak Marr driving range you have about 30-40 deer to hit with golf balls.

You really think 7.62 would kill a deer without just injuring it?

I think 7.62 would do the job, as long as you're a fairly good shot.

I like the Cor-Bon ammo which is fine for deer in the laurel thickets.
The ballistics are similar to 30-30.

Using soft points yes, but there are always idiots that would use the cheap Wolf ammo or military surplus rounds, which would leave a neat little hole in the deer and not much else.

Only an idiot would use military ammo for hunting deer but even
dumber would be for someone to fire away on a Fairfax roadway with
an SKS. I can imagine what the 911 calls would sound like before the
SWAT team arrives.

First, I would never use fully jacked ammo for hunting, let alone my SKS. For hunting in the suburban compact I prefer my belt-fed Saiga 12GA.

Second, it's obvious the deadpan straight delivery of my satirical response to the OP has been taken too seriously by some of the uninitiated that read this forum.

Are you sure that thing is adequate for the suburbs? I think a deer problem calls for a Nuke50.

Well, I find that the Nuke50 is ideal for large scale "District 13" style urban eradication. But as you see in the video above, the rounds are not very user friendly.

Besides, I'm a small guy. I can barely handle the Saiga 12.

10? Shit, I live in Springfield and get 10, 12, and even as many 16 at a time through my yard. There are too many deer, fortunately, the county is working to reduce the overpopulation.

Yeah. If one crosses the road in front of you, you better damn well stop because 8 more are running along behind it. I see it all the time.

Somebody tell me how to get in on that hunting in the parks. Because last time I checked it was sharpshooters hired by the county at like $250 an hour with night vision and silencers to hunt at night. They mostly sat around and collected bank. Estimated cost per deer was something like $2000 a head.

Considering bow hunters would love to do this for free where is their option?
