Fairfax Citizens Police Academy

There are a mix of old and young people. The sad fact is most young people don't know this program exists.
You learn a lot of the trade secrets of why cops act the way they do.
Also you get to drive a cop car through the offensive driving course and fire a .40 caliber semi automatic handgun and shotgun on the firing range.
You can sign up at the fcpd website. They hold the program twice a year.

The fire department has a similar program at www.fairfaxcountycert.org you get to pretend to be fireman and use the fire aceademy with the fire buildings the firemen train on. It is free and you get free supplies.

I know no what you mean by coolaid unless you mean go to Coastal Flats after training and drink. But you cannot wear your CERT vest because you cannot drink when in role of CERT. CERT are law abiding citizens when doing cert role and do not drink and drive in CERT vests on. You should not drink and drive also. Good night.
