Most departments including FCPD are using less codes and more plain talk. I don't have a list or anything but you will figure out stuff the more you listen.

Check your programing here: http://www.radioreference.com/modules.php?name=RR&sid=182

This site also has lots of other systems in the area.

You may be out of luck of you are using an old school scanner since FXCO uses an 800 Mhz trunked radio system which makes it difficult to monitor public safety communications. There is another poster who has setup a web-based scanner that is pretty good and I figure that he will add to this conversation.

As noted above, 10-codes have largely gone away.

Fairfax PD are 800 Mhz trunked but they are also digital as well. A digital scanner will set you back about $400 to $500.

I have a digital trunking scanner if anyone wants it. Its been turned on once, is in the original box, is Radio Shack brand, and I bought it for 500. I may cut you a deal if you're cool/a loyal ffx underground person.
