asian countries refused to use it, calling it "unlucky"

AFTER MANY ASIAN WORLD ATTACKS ON MIPS - refusing to touch any product with mips in it and being in bed with Apple to stop using Motorola ...

Longsoon now claims "MIPS IS NOT IN DEVELOPMENT AND IS NOW OWNED BY LONGSOON"

the chinese often just steal technology outright while inserting viruses in USA's compilers to "slow USA down"

in this case they do what Americans often say is tin foil hat theory: LONG TERM PLANNING

but it's not true that's unheard of

asians are well known to conceive of and act out 100 year plan to ".git rid of competitors"

PEOPLE REFUSE TO BELIEVE IT - AND SO THEIR GUARD IS ALWAYS DOWN

this is one of those processors that ESCAPES ALL THE TRAPS set by asians in LINUX KERNEL compiling - for example the insidious OBJTOOL obstruction trap. "not required when loongson is target"

all the crap put in to snag intel chips - doesn't apply when compiling for ARM and loongson

SURPRISINGLY FOR ME - they are still making new chips. i once shopped for them couldn't find anything so gave up.

wikipedia proclaimed for years that mips and sparc were long dead and ARM was the assumed winner

also they said "the Java chip never existed" (a chip in Sun workstations that specializes in high speed java workload - proprietary) - but it did i've seen one. it wasn't successful because microsoft was preinstalled on walmart computers and there were lawsuits about it (today it's all multicore so they don't make java chip anymore - per say)
