Where can I find roomates?

I've just started work here so I'm new to the area. Of course since I just started work (college grad) so I don't have enough money to pay for the place myself, and need to find some roomates to share the cost of the townhouse. I also dont want to use any pay sites (those money grubbing bastards!). Any idea's on where I can find some roomies? I've tried Craigs List but with no luck. Thanks.

First of all, does anybody else get the feeling that tina is a cop trolling for pedophiles? Second, just live in a shitty building with the mexicans. There are tons of cheap apartments in the area but your neighbors will suck. Just lock your door and secure the windows, you'll be fine.

first of all, tina has said she's sixteen so if someone were "trolling for her", they would be a ephebophile, not a pedophile.

second, mad max is right, but I would like to add you should arm yourself alongside his other recs. A nice persuader and a few glocks tucked away here and there.

Shoot a Beretta next to a glock and you'll know the difference. And the choice round for mowing down the man on the street is the 357 SIG. The secret service cant be wrong.

Try advertising in all the university newspapers (GMU, American, Georgetown, etc.) and bulletin boards. You dont really want regualr people renting from you. Download a roommate lease from the net and make them sign it. I've made every one of these mistakes.

Forgive my ignorance, but will students in Georgetown really want to live in fairfax? Also, I would think that young professionals are preferable to students as they may have a longer lease time and also have more money and keep the place cleaner (along with keeping the same hours as myself). Why is renting to students better?

Also I was not too worried about making them sign contracts as I will be one of the roomates so I can oversee things much easier.

Young professionals are tough to gague and verify. Students are much better in that respect as they either have money from school or mommy and daddy and you can just ask for a copy of a current class schedule. By all means make them sign a contract. Even if you live there and "oversee" things, they can not pay you and disappear, and it would be much harder for you to collect without a signed document. I am not a lawyer yet, but I've taken contracts and property classes already and it would be wise to get it in writing in case you have to go to court. I speak from experience too with $1200 in unpaid rent and $250 in phone bills from sublettors. Make them sign!!!

And undergrads may not go for it, but grad students from all the area schools live all over the place so you'd be lucky to get a few of them. Good luck.

Before we got married my wife found some decent roommates via the message board here. http://www.frontline.to/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi

Frontline is the singles group at McLean Bible Church, just FYI. Her roommates weren't Bible thumpers by any means. They were actually pretty laid back. Anyways, I think it could be a good place to find decent roommates who wouldn't be much trouble. Unless you're looking for trouble of course...

Finding roommates is a crapshoot though. When we were looking to fill a spot in our Townhouse we posted on Frontline and on Craigslist and didn't see a whole lot of cool ppl responding to the post. Finally found a roommate through word of mouth, a recent graduate from our alma mater. So you might consider etting your college alumni coordinator know...

I've fired a Glock 27 (.40) caliber and it is pretty nice. I have been considering a Glock 20 (10mm) or Glock 29 (10mm compact) as my next gun. With an Advantage Arms .22lr kit for cheap range time.

I haven't fired a Beretta yet, but can compare the Glock to the Kel-Tec P11(9mm) and the Springfield Arms Xd 9mm and I think that it is the nicest of the composite frame guns. At least of the ones I have had a chance to shoot.

I Also had the oppurtunity to fire the Springfield Arms match grade 1911 (.45), a Taurus .357 revolver, a couple of .22s, and a S&W .44 magnum long barrel revolver (with a 4x scope). T

The Glock compares favorably for what it is, but it is still a compoite frame pistol which, although a lot lighter, isn't going to feel quite as smooth as a gun with more mass behind it.
