Compton Road Insane Asylum

The Remmey Tomb got me thinking about another spot that was supposed to be haunted or at least frequented by a notorious local murderer that escaped from the Asylum when it was open.

It was off of compton road somewhere between clifton and bull run, maybe?

anyone remember this?

it could be associated with Bunnyman, but it's not the bunny man bridge. this was actually a large plot of land with alot of old burned out buildings that was supposed to be an insane asylum way back in the day. the entrance was right off of compton road.

i graduated from WSHS back in the early 90's and it was fairly popular back then. nothing comes back on google.

It was the Ivakota farm used for unmarried mothers and delinquent girls.

Kate Waller Barrett was the mover and shaker behind it.

The property has since been developed.

Go to www.historicaerials.com.

Use Centreville High as your point of reference.

Move down Union Mills Road and you can see some of the farm outbuildings if you use the 1949 and 1962 aerials.

Be sure to use the overlays if that is helpful.
