South Lakes redistricting was not a good idea. We were under capacity, so it was understandable at the time. Now, we'll be at 125% capacity by the year 2020. It's impossible to get through the hallways without the guard or linebacker on the football team leading the way because of all the damned freshmen. There are WELL over 600 freshmen. It's ridiculous. Graduation is going to be a mess both this year and next year.

Fortunately, I'm out of the school in 18 months. Then I can sit back and laugh at the scramble to go back to capacity.

Well, with regard to drug usage, no. And with regard to minorities (Mexicans
and the like), DEFINITELY not.

But academically, SLHS isn't any bastion of education. Again... only 18 months to go
for me. There are a few good teachers there who don't deserve to teach there. I have some of them. Honestly, I have no Seahawk Pride or the new term "Seahawk Swag". I'm on the Langley border, but I wasn't given an option.

School spirit is very overrated. I show up, do my work, and expect nobody to give a damn if I have my "Seahawk Swag" or not. Most of the bright ones don't. The loud, obnoxious ones (think Hype Squad) do.

Alan Webb - first high schooler to run a indoor mile in less than 4 minutes (I think he still the record for H.S.)

Also I believe he holds the record for fastest American mile.

You know your school has failed when the best thing you can say about the school (an academic institution) is that two alumni succeeded solely based on their athletic prowess - not because of their academic achievement.....
