Fairfax string of robberies
Posted by: dtm123 ()

So apparently a string of robberies started at the beginning of the month in Reston and have extended to the rest of FFX County now? About 40 now I here. Now the guy who they suspect is the same guy hitting all of the houses is in the Oakton area. Hit up Vale Rd area and Fox Mill the past two nights. Heard helicopters around Waples Mill 6AM this morning and cops said there was a robbery on Foxvale. Everyone better start locking up, being more observant and keeping all visible items out of your car. Don't take your safety for granted kids

Interesting. I live near the Fair Oaks INOVA hospital and might have seen these guys about 3 weeks ago.

I was out smoking a cigarette around 2am and saw a car drive up to my neighbor's house and one person hopped out, the car took off and made a real slow lap around the block while the first guy seemed to check the cars in the driveway and the front door.

At first I thought it was my neighbor's friend, so I tried to stay hidden to not bother them at 2am. But then I saw the car come back around the block and pick up the kid that was just messing with my neighbor's cars.

I think they were driving a Red 90's Chevy Lumina. Not really sure about the make or model, but it had slanted brake lights that look like \\\BUMPER HERE/// similar to the lumina's i just googled.

Might've been nothing, or totally unrelated, but I guess it's worth mentioning here. The kid that jumped out looked to be between 16-25, young but not that young, around 5'8" and wore dark clothing. The family who's house was targeted is of Persian/French decent, and they have a kid who's still a senior at chantilly high school, just in case this was targeted.

This might all be for nothing, but it's worth reporting since this has become such a big problem.

Never told/asked my neighbor's about that night. I walked by the house after they left and everything seemed fine. This happened around the 1st of the month (September).

Anyone else see a Red Chevy in their neighborhood when these robberies occurred?

Now that I'm looking at the picture the taillights don't look right. They were definitely slanted but not as wide as the ones in the picture. Probably more like:
\\ B U M P E R H E R E //

Anyone know other (shittier) Chevy cars that have slanted tail lights like that? I'll keep an eye out on the road to see if I can find the exact model.

There has also been a rash of burglaries in McLean over the past few weeks.

The article says they're related to the break-ins out in Reston.

So you thought that posting anonymously on FFXU would make them aware if it?

String has been happening all over the county-

Here's the police press release

Fairfax County Police are investigating a series of burglaries and larcenies that have occurred throughout the northern section of the county and Crime Solvers is asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating the suspect. Detectives have linked at least 44 reported incidents that they believe were committed by the same suspect. Of those, there are 24 burglaries, 13 larcenies from vehicles and two unlawful entries. These incidents began on Tuesday, August 24 in the Clifton area. Since then, the suspect has targeted homes throughout the Sully, Fair Oaks, Reston and McLean Police Districts.

The suspect mainly enters occupied homes through unlocked or open doors and windows. He steals cash, purses and property from inside. The purses are usually discarded outside in close proximity to the victims’ homes with only cash missing. He enters vehicles that are unlocked or smashes a window and takes property from inside that is in plain view. All of these incidents have occurred during the overnight hours.

Detectives believe this suspect is a man, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall and 150 to 175 pounds.

Residents are urged to ensure their cars are locked while unattended and that no personal items of value are left inside or in plain view. In addition, make sure doors and windows are closed and locked at home; this includes garage doors. When returning home, try not to leave purses, wallets or keys near an entryway. Promote safety by using the exterior lights on your home as well. If you notice suspicious persons or activity, call the non-emergency police number (703-691-2131) and report it.

Anyone with information about these incidents or the suspect is asked to contact Crime Solvers by phone at 1-866-411-TIPS(8477), e-mail at www.fairfaxcrimesolvers.org or text “TIP187†plus your message to CRIMES(274637). A $1,000 cash reward will be paid for information that leads to an arrest. As always, callers never have to give their names or appear in court. Find us on Facebook.

As opposed to stealing these things from these homes from the outside.

The car thefts and home break-ins were going on here in Reston back in July. A few of them happened in my neighborhood, which was the first time since this place was constructed.

I'm surprised that this clown is breaking into occupied dwellings, what a dumb move. It fits the MO of one of the break-ins that occurred back in late July around where I live, when some folks busted into a nearby home, and subsequently beat the crap out of an older lady when they ran into her, then dipped. She was in the hospital for a good while afterwards.

All we can hope is that he does rob a home where the homeowner has a registered firearm and he is lawfully shot dead in his tracks.

Fairfax Underground is on the case! With tales such as the above we will hunt down and capture this miscreant. Hopefully by one of our open carry readers. Who will react defensively to any aggressive act.

Fairfax Underground... Taking the "U" out of "Burglury."

It makes sense the crimes would start in Clifton. A lot of those houses are far apart and huge. Looks like the guy or guys are spreading out. This looks like the work of some low life Manassass person.

Is there any update on the vehicle description? I haven't heard anything from the official sources. We have motion capture video cams at the entrance to our neighborhood and need to know what to look for.
