HFStival last night @ Merriweather. ("Everclear" sucked rancid ass!)

Was anyone else in attendance at the HFStival yesterday? It was all relatively old news on the main stage, but still good stuff. The "Presidents of the Untied States" were as rocking as ever. Props also to "Fuel", "Lit", and Ed Kowalczyk from "Live". Of course, Billy Idol stole the show as always. It's hard to believe that guy is 55. He's still got the energy of a college kid.

"Everclear", however, was just atrocious. I couldn't believe how bad their front-man, Art, sounded. He couldn't hit a note, slurred his words and even forgot half the lyrics to HIS OWN SONG! I heard a guy in front of me say that they sounded worse than a shitty high school garage band. I was really disappointed. The guy sounded like he was either shit-high on meth, or having some sort of epileptic episode. Really, really bad.

I gotta say though, I miss the HFStival days of yore. I didn't see a SINGLE pair of naked titties. That NEVER would have happened back "in the day".

What about anyone else? Likes? Dislikes? Thoughts?

Yeah, "Rush" is pretty awesome. But are they as awesome as "Naughty by Nature"? :P

Who the fuck wants to hear Everclear anymore? Every single son of theirs is "Waah waah my pappy left waah waah" Nickelback's songs may all be the same, but at least the lyrics change occasionally!

What was the attendance like at HFStival?

I am thinkin that it was pretty poor given the state of live concerts lately.

I was actually surprised at the decent turnout given my relatively low expectations. It was by NO MEANS sold out and compared to the HFStivals of the past, it was small, but I had feared that no one would come. It was maybe like a medium/large sized Wolftrap crowd. I would guess maybe 3-5 thousand people. Merriweather is pretty small anyway so it FELT like a larger crowd.
The NICE thing was that there was no fighting, no rudeness, no college guys puking everywhere and making asses of themselves. It was a nice, mellow, "family friendly" crowd. (Wow! I NEVER thought that I'd come to a point in my life where I'd actually APPRECIATE a crowd like that! Lol.)
