high school suspension and college

I recently got suspended from a fcps highschool for being intoxicated at a football game. I'm suspended for 5 days and its going on my school record. I'm also banned from school activities for 30 days. My question is does colleges ask if you have ever been suspended from school? If so will they not accept you just because of this? I have good grades and this is my only concern

The school year just started and you've already been suspended? Really?

It's generally accepted that kids do dumb things. You did a dumb thing.

Take it like a man, and don't do it again. If you keep the rest of your record clean, then you can honestly answer, "I made a dumb mistake when I was young, and learned a valuable lesson from it." If you make a habit out of getting busted for doing stupid shit, you can bet your ass it will be taken into consideration.

Why would anybody feel the need to get drunk at a high school football game?

All college applications ask the question "have you ever been suspended or expelled from a secondary school? If yes, explain". Tell the truth!! You are signing that you are telling the truth. If you lie and they find out, it's grounds for them rescinding acceptance. Most colleges, accept you even with one indiscretion.

Yes. See the question from the widely used Common Application below.

> If so will they not accept you just because of this?

No, but you have some explaining to do. AKA "reflections"...

They ask the same questions of the schools, so don't leave it out. The only difference between your question and the schools is the school's explanation doesn't include "reflections..."

Disciplinary History
Have you ever been found responsible for a disciplinary violation at any educational institution you have attended from 9th grade (or the international equivalent) forward, whether related to academic misconduct or behavioral misconduct, that resulted in your probation, suspension, removal, dismissal, or expulsion from
the institution? Yes No
Have you ever been adjudicated guilty or convicted of a misdemeanor, felony, or other crime? Yes No
[Note that you are not required to answer “yes†to this question, or provide an explanation, if the criminal adjudication or conviction has been expunged, sealed, annulled, pardoned, destroyed, erased, impounded, or otherwise ordered by a court to be kept confidential.]
If you answered “yes†to either or both questions, please attach a separate sheet of paper that gives the approximate date of each incident, explains the circumstances, and reflects on what you learned from the experience.

You can join the Army. While sitting in your fox hole in Afghanistan, you can reminisce about the night you screwed up you life.

Yeah, enlist and put some time and distance away from this incident. Seems to me enlisting in one of the serivces to get GI Bill benefits, killing a human being in combat that is from a culture that is vastly different from our own, with a 1000 plus year history will get you into college versus a simple DIP charge on your permenant school record.

This kid got drunk at a high school football game. You were apparently drunk every time they taught reading comprehension.

I had the worst citizenship record in the school as I was an immigrant with some cultural problems.

I was one of the best students though.

They expelled me, but let me come back to take exams in my senior year.

University was happy to have me, thinking the school district was run by a bunch of martinets and fools. Correct on both counts!

yes we are very tolerant of American taliban. In fact in 2001 we allowed folks to stay here long enough to take flight lessons. No worries.

I wouldn't disclose it.

If you don't get accepted to your top choices, stay at home, go to NVCC for a few semesters, and then transfer.

UVa takes such things very seriously.

Yeah, when the mortar rounds start reigning down on your position one crisp Autumn evening, you can think: "Hey, it could be worse, I could've been attending a Westfield football game right now".

I was suspended from HS for pulling a prank on the Journalism class. I was suspended for two days, had an official letter of reprimand on my record, but was able to get into college without any problems. NOW, you've got a bigger problem than worrying about college - you're probably on the cusp of having an alcohol problem. I'd take care of that first.

If you're a white male, it will haunt you the rest of your life.

If you are black, illegal, gay, etc..., it will just be viewed as white people trying to hold down the non-whites, faggots, hard working undocumented immigrants, etc...
