We are soon moving to the Kingstowne area from Akron Ohio. Our kids will be entering Hayfield in the fall. Please let me know what this school is like?

I had friends that went there, but that was years ago--graduated 2000, and highschools tend to change dramatically for better or worse even over the course of just a few years.

But back in '96-'00, that school was pretty ghetto in respect to the other Northern Virginia schools(public).

But this is Fairfax county, so it's not like Hayfield will be anywhere near as bad as D.C.'s public schools or anything.

But compared to Mclean and Langley (the uber-wealthy highschool that the creators of the FOX TV show OC attended and based their show on), Hayfield was pretty ghetto.

My favorite drug dealer goes to Hayfield, he's been a senior for three years. He wasn't involved in those stabbings there last year, though, that was that latin gang, MS-13. Those guys are only dangerous if you try to talk to them or something, though. And don't believe what you may hear about those two kids pointing loaded guns at the principle in the middle of the hall. They only flashed the guns for a few seconds, the never directly pointed them.

And as for the principle soliciting that sophmore for sex last year, they think now he only solicited for oral. They don't think he (the sophmore) ever seriously considered accepting.

I graduated from Hayfield this year. The school is not bad; it just finished its reconstruction and looks pretty good. Teachers are good and they offer AP classes but no IB. It's very diverse, but will be losing a lot of students/teachers to the new South County Secondary school 15 minutes away.

I don't know what rstidman is talking about... the only stabbings I remember were the ones at Annandale a couple years back. And the teacher I remember that was fired for sexual accusations turned out to be innocent.

Hayfield is a nice area. Many of the kids will be gong to the new South County HS in teh fall. If the morons from Richmond Hy area of Lorton go to the new school, things will greatly improve at Hayfield.

Hayfield will be a pretty good school now that the south county high school is set to open. SWweeman is correct..95% of the scumbag-retards from below rt7100 will be headed to South County with the rich kids from sourthern ffx station--hahahaha

nice reply, considering even if op's kids were freshmen at the time, they would have graduated by now!
