ISO Great Rotisserie/Pollo a la Brasa

Looking for suggestions for fantastic pollo a la brasa near Fairfax Circle or Merrifield. I really like Super Chicken in Falls Church, but it's a far drive for a weeknight grab and go. Thanks.

Nothing beats El Pollo Rico in the Virginia Square/Clarendon area. Nothing. Five bucks for their 1/4 chicken lunch cannot be beat. They're routinely on the "Best Cheap Eats" in Washingtonian Magazine for a good reason.

Everything else around here is trying to imitate them.

I'll check out this Merrifield place, BUT, the high bar has been set in Arlington.

Although it is not true Pollo a la Brasa.. and it is pricey..

The rotisserie chicken from Copper Canyon is some of the best I have had.. Pepper spicy, crispy skin and juicy, Its like ultra-gourmet pollo rico.

I work in the Ballston area, I think the best is in this order

-Edy's Chicken and steak ,( the rotisserie sandwich is incredible)
-Caribbean Grill- great sides too ( North G. Mason & 29 )
-Pollo Rico , even though my stomach cant handle all the spices
-Super Pollo (Willard and G. Mason) ( used to be behind the mall.) gotta get the Yucca

Take a Stand-

No Pio Pio on that list? (right next to Mario's). It's my 2nd favorite place around there.

Thanks all. Hey Meeper, I gotta be honest, El Pollo Rico does nothing for me. And I KNOW people are religious about that chicken. Every time I go, it's "mehhhh." Anyway, I need something closer. Any good finds in the FFX Circle or Merrifield area?

Sadly I have never tried Pio Pio, I always forget that it is there.

I will make an effort to go this week and report back .

You might want to try La Choza. It's on the right hand side of Lee Hwy just past Merrifield as you're heading toward Fairfax. I never had their rotisserie chicken but it's on the menu. I used to go in there alot ten years ago, but haven't been there in awhile cuz the menu sorta changed a few years back and I didn't like it as much.

Worth checking out if it's close to you though. Their lomo saltado is pretty good if you don't care for their chicken.
