Cox Hi-Def: Does Fox or CBS ever come in clear?

I just got a Hi-def receiver about a week ago. Everything comes in great except for the Fox HD (709) and CBS HD (709) channels. Does anyone else get these channels?

I have the same problem with those channels. It can be quite annoying as those are the two channels nfl football is on. I contacted cox about the problem and they told me my signal was weak..funny how all of the other hd channels come in fine.

I haven't had a problem with either of those channels in a while. HBO was coming in shitty last sunday during Entourage, but the glitches seem less often than they were a few years ago. Anyone else notice that there are more channels now? About fucking time if you ask me. HDTV isn't last year's invention ya know. Can't wait for FIOS!!!

How old is your house and do you have have a lot of cable outlets around your house? I noticed the same problem during football season since all of the Sunday NFL games are on Fox and CBS. The Cox technician replaced the first splitter inside my house which made a BIG difference, but I still get occassional tiling and pixelation. The recommendation was to upgrade the cable wiring, at least to the TVs that I want to view in HD since the basic twinax (flesh-colored with two cables) is not high enough quality for the digital and HD.

We will be remodeling our basement in a couple of months and will have the electrician update the cable wiring, unless we decide to go with FIOS.

I would have Cox come out and see if a new splitter solves the problem. It was a 10-minute visit which did not cost me anything.

We used to have the same problem a few years ago when we went HD. We called cox and the technician just plugged some signal booster thing into one of the cable outlets in the basement, never had a problem again since.

Yes, you can stick with "regular fuzzy tv", and when the signal goes away by mandate in a few years, you'll have the same exact reception quality every day.

Eat shit. An interrupted HDTV signal beats your crap any day of the week.

They came out today, put in the line amp....nothing. They then replaced a splitter and a wall jack...nothing. They tried, but still no Fox or CBS. They said they'll have some 'network' guys come out. I hope they can fix it.
