No, FCPS is a government in crisis. The root cause is that the school board is not independent from the Gatehouse staff, so there is no oversight of their decisions.
The accuser lied, which was proven, not beyond a reasonable doubt, but beyond a shadow of a doubt, in court.
FCPS is now grasping for straws to avoid the multi-million dolaar payout this teacher deserves for the way he was treated by them.
If they ever did discovery in a civil case, it would show that FCPS knew within hours that the girl was not telling the truth, and all their actions after that only made it worse for the teacher.
The only winners here are the families of Rocky Run, who are receiving an excellent teacher.

The root cause of this whole mess is the atmosphere that has been created in the FCPS administration where some mid-level administrator is trying to make his spurs by nailing someone. Then it becomes a cause celeb throughout. And in this case the the county attorney's office thought they could make some hay out of it. I don't know Lanigan at all, but know enough teachers that everyone could be brought up on charges of some kind if someone thought it was career promoting.
