Football is so werid this year. rumors say that Star wide receiver samuel Endicott is not going to be at madison next year. Centreville players are transferring one by one. Tilly has last all there main players incuding D1 commit Garret robertson. Oakton still the same not expecting shit from them this year. and south lakes is unsure due to anonymity of the class of 2024. In general football has become unpredictable after the class of 2023s have departed.

Westfied has a lot of players returning but so what. They aren't very good so won't matter. They are soft don't lift like they used to. Not to mention the team is mostly ankle biter sized. Madison wins the Concorde easily for 4th year in a row. Easily will out-class a weak concord distric.

You do realize that Madison's qb is the guy who went to oakton last year and played there. And his competition is a kid who's 5'2

...none of that will have any affect on the Warhawks run thru Concorde... Madison does what Madison does... coaching, prep, team, belief... add wrinkle here or there...

Don't know what you're talking about 5'2" QB... the younger Yates kid is listed at 5'9" (he ain't 7" below that height dude)
The real key with Madison is line play and an aggressive defense. Even if Endicott goes (military family so not surprising) -- the Knicely brothers are speedsters, both being flexed WR/RB last year.

South County - returns a lot on D and the qb. Legendary coach returns
Fairfax - out recruiting everyone and program is on the upswing
Lake Braddock - Lost a bunch, but still has enough to win
West Springfield - Return a lot on D, but lost everyone on O
West Potomac - Graduated a lot, but have been very good on younger levels last few years
Robinson - Return some good defensive players, maybe worst HC hire I’ve ever seen
Alexandria City - Always have talent and can play D, need the offense to improve
Woodson - Return several multi year starters. If they can’t get out of the cellar this year they never will

Nigga I was at hayfield 7on7 tourney yesterday. Oakton looks to be much improved but the class of 2025 doesn't seem the get on the field that much, It's only class of 2026 and 2024. I think Oakton has lost faith in their class of 2025. I don't even blame them tbh Class of 2025 is the worst class they've had in a long time.

I think the future of oakton is going to be determined by class of 2026 and the upcmoning classes.

Yorktown will not be very good this year. They will have a handful of good players but the average quality of player will be significantly down from last year. They have a manageable schedule with their only tough non conference game being centreville. I expect around 6 wins and a low seed in the playoffs and lose first round. They may not even be the best team in Arlington with W-L returning a fair amount from last year with a talented 2025 class.

Quince Orchard playing both South County and Stone Bridge... Stone Bridge also playing Martinsburg (WV) and Woodgrove, neither of which are pushovers along with their traditional season opening (at home this year) against James Madison

Highland Springs, now Class 6 opens against Miramar (FL) away and also plays Martinsburg (WV) @ home

Freedom also taking on Coolidge (DC), Class A champion last year, Varina, and St. Michael in away games

I would probably give South County, Robinson, Lake Braddock, and James Madison at the toughest 6C/6D schedules in the fall... opinions may vary...

It's hilarious that TJ chooses to play against all sorts of odd small teams but they still choose to play against Lewis. I guess even if they win just one National game they'll feel better about themselves.

Unless Centreville has an entire starting defense and offense that did not show up for the camp at Westfield two weeks ago, they are going to struggle-a lot. Small and very, very young. There is a reason Resto jumped ship to play for Champe-Centreville is going to be under .500 this season.

One thing is for sure SL will never fly under the radar. That coach hasn’t shut up since he took over. Every article they’re “disrespected” but they’re yet to make these supposed haters (who the hell is talking about SL!?) eat their words. Maybe this year!

Yorktown lost a lot of seniors this year. They will have a couple of studs left over from last year but the overall talent level is significantly down and stone bridge will dominate them next week. Their schedule is very manageable but once they have to play a high level opponent they will get exposed. Hanson probably should have retired this offseason but because of all he’s done yorktown can’t fire him. He was a great coach but his cte has really been kicking in these last few years as he can barely express himself and runs an offense that can be out schemed by good defensive coordinators.

You certainly are entitled to your opinion, but that is not what happened. Overall the two teams were fairly even in terms of yardage, with the exception being the one score Battlefield got on a long pass where the CB did not turn his head fast enough to see the ball. BF had two TDs if I recall and WF a FG. The Westfield defense was considerably better than Battlefield's shutting down the run game, forcing two fumbles (one recovered), one INT, a blocked FG, and getting 3-4 sacks (yes, they were touch sacks since the QBs were not live).

Westfield was better in all phases except the run, in that the O-line is struggling with run blocking. The passing game was very good and the defense again was very good as well. All that said, this is a Robinson team that is mostly sophomores so they will take their lumps. It did not help that they were without their starting QB with a broken wrist. They are very big (tall) overall so if those young kids bulk up they might be formidable again in two years.

Yep, that sounds about right.

I’d go with South County, Madison, Westfield, Lake Braddock & West Springfield.
Freedom Woodbridge and Stone Bridge are the 2 best teams in the area

Robinson parents are the worst in the county. Arrogant and entitled for no reason, other than they live in a middle class neighborhood, that is on the edge of one of the wealthiest “neighborhoods” in the county. The nonsense surround Vosslers departure is a disgrace and Robinson got what they deserved.

That being said, the above post from RamFam1 is spot freaking on. Vossler didn't;t have a clue on running a modern offense, if he did he might have won a title or two. But he was brilliant at actually building a program. From the ground up, not through recruiting. Fundamentally one of the best coached programs around. he’ll end up somewhere next year like McLean or Justice, have them winning 8-9 games a year within 3.

Aziz will be the coach at Robinson in the next two years.

Vossler’s offense was old school and boring, but it was also the highest scoring offense in the area. They knew what they were doing with the talent they had. Hasn’t been a scholarship skill player at Robinson since Bendorf was the coach.

Week 1

Good Morning to all! I hope everyone has had a successful and healthy 2023 thus far. Football season is officially BACK! I will continue to post spreads as well as results from the previous Friday on every Sunday Morning. As I have done in prior years, I'm going to continue to use the old school names. (Sorry to anyone who may be offended, I'm just sticking to what I know!) I also encourage any and everybody to engage in my posts, whether it be positive or negative. Hoping for another good year of HS football!

I will be the first to say that I have not paid much, if any, attention to off-season stuff regarding HS football in NOVA, so I may be a little rusty at first. The schedule cycle for this year and next is very intriguing, a lot of match-ups we have never seen. (Lot of out of state games, counties playing schools in other counties, public vs. private, etc.) I'm also going to continue doing Stone Bridge spreads as my one Loudoun school and I am going to start including Freedom-Woodbridge spreads as my one Prince William school. In my eyes, Freedom is probably the top team in the area. Anyways, lets get this train rolling!

1. Chantilly (-28) @ Falls Church
- Nice easy game for the Chargers to start their 2023 campaign.

2. Colgan @ Lake Braddock (-30)
- Don't know much about Colgan. They are a newer school who routinely gets pounded by Freedom. Expecting the Bruins to roll here.

3. Freedom-Woodbridge (-20) @ Coolidge (DC)
- Game will be played Saturday night at 6 PM. Freedom has legit D1 talent all over the field with multiple kids already committed to D1 programs. Overton has done a great job with that program. Coolidge went 11-2 last year, shutout 6 schools and I believe they also won the DC City Title. (It might be called something else.)

4. Langley (-14) @ Oakton
- The Saxons are coming off a 7-4 year, although I'm not sure how much returning talent they have this year. Langley won this match-up by 7 last year, but the question is, will Oakton be better this year?

5. Lee @ Park View (-3)
- The Lancers have a real chance to win a game other than the TJ game... Kind of a toss up game in my mind.

6. Madison @ Stone Bridge (-6)
- Game of the week. Stone Bridge won this game by 1 point last year in a thriller. The Bulldogs schedule this year is absolutely loaded which leads me to believe Mickey has some real talent over there. Can Madison pull off the upset?

7. Marshall (-3) @ Annandale
- I think the Statesmen take the short trip down 495 and win a close one against the Atoms.

8. McLean @ George Mason (-3)
- Another toss up game. McLean and George Mason both had a horrible year last year but McLean has a chance to steal one on the road against a team that is on their level.

9. Osbourn @ South Lakes (-8)
- Osbourn hasn't really been relevant since the Dominique Terrell days and I don't know much about them as of late. I think South Lakes will be improved this year and get a week 1 win on their home field.

10. Robinson @ South County (-21)
- I think the Rams can keep this one close for a half or so, but the Stallions will pull away late and win by 3 scores or more.

11. Stuart @ Herndon (-14)
- Herndon was the feel good story last year, can they continue to play at a respectable level or did all of their talent graduate? Either way, I think they can pull off a win at home against JEB who was 2-8 last year in the worst district in (maybe) the state.

12. T.C. Williams @ Centreville (-20)
- The Titans last beat the Wildcats in 2019, but they had a good team that year who I believe won the District Title. This is another game that I can see being close for the first half before Centreville pulls away in the 2nd half. T.C. always has physical teams, so Centreville better not come out sleep walking.

13. Wakefield @ Fairfax (-28)
- You have to wonder how good Fairfax will be this year after a very successful 2022 campaign. They did graduate a fair amount of talent, but I believe they will still be a good team in 2023. Will Wakefield win a game this year?

14. Washington-Lee @ Edison (-14)
- Edison is one of my sleeper teams this year, I think they will be good. Not sure if they can pass Hayfield to win the district but they will definitely be in the mix. They added a lockdown CB from Mount Vernon in the off-season to help the secondary. Not sure what to think of W&L just yet, but we will see...

15. West Potomac (-14) @ Mount Vernon
- The annual Battle of the Highway. Last year the Wolverines won by a touchdown, and they have won the last 2 match-ups after losing 3 in a row in this series. I heard the Majors lost a lot of talent and they have a new Head Coach so the jury is still out on them. Give me West Potomac on the road.

16. West Springfield (-17) @ Hayfield
- The Spartans blew the Hawks out in their first meeting last year, but Hayfield played them much closer the 2nd time they met in the playoffs. The Spartans will almost surely be the bigger and more physical team and I'm looking for them to roll on the road.

17. Westfield (-6) @ Patriot
- Co-game of the week. Westfield is challenging themselves again this year with a season opener on the road against a good Prince William team. I think the difference in this game will be coaching. Not sure what to expect out of Westfield this year, but I think they find a way to get it done on the road in a close one.

18. Woodson @ Yorktown (-35)
- The Patriots will win this game with ease... I wonder when Henderson's patience will run out at Woodson, as they've had some rough seasons as of late.

Head Coach Facts:
Aziz
13 seasons
7 playoff appearances
64-70 (.478)

Blair
3 seasons
0 playoff appearances
7-23 (.304)

Aziz all day. Real question is will Blair last long enough at Robinson to win 7 more games.

Shields on the hot seat. Disliked by boosters & AD is wearing thin of his antics. A lot of kids left his program over the summer. He will not win 3-4 games with his qb situation. Haddock days would be great right about now.

George Mason High School is gone forever.

Replaced with the biggest gay/cuck name ever: Meridian High School.

Any predictions on who will win liberty district, Concorde, etc? I think Yorktown wins liberty with relative ease as Madison does the same. Then again Yorktown is no match for any Concorde team. I believe they have what it takes to beat Centerville.

I wouldn’t say the community at large is angry. A handful of undersized kids with delusional dads transferred to play in a home school league. Centreville will be down because of it because of inexperienced players in key spots but they’ll be fine in the coming years.

True or False?

Holding: Starting this year, it is a 10-yard penalty from the line of scrimmage, not the spot of the foul.

Kind of miss the ravings of the sycophant Bruins mama and Wildcat Nation, guess their kids must’ve finally graduated from their schools. I enjoyed laughing at their delusional takes.
