8/15/10: 7 police cars (Fairfax and VASP) along w/ the helo ISO?

I can't find anything online about why the 7 (maybe more) police cars and the helo were flying in between Lee Chapel and Silverbrook on Rt 123 late last night (around 11:30- Midnight.

Anyone know the scoop?

Donut run? No donut stores in the area, not even a 7-11.

They were back and forth, blocking off roads, etc.

Something big must have gone down to be all over the place like they were!

I passed by lee chapel rd around 1 am that night and they had the road blocked off coming from 123 about 9-11 cop cars, looked like a ford 5hundred(or taurus/fusion) was in the middle of the road being searched

Heard it was from Lee Chapel, through the neighborhoods down to Crosspointe! Dozens of police cars!

Any more news on this?

I was listening on the scanner. 2 or 3 black males bailed from a stolen vehicle (Black Volvo, I believe). They caught the driver with a K9 unit. Had another one tracked down later off Crosspointe but he got away. 1 or 2 vehicles broken into right off Lee Chapel in South Run within an hour or so after the bail-out.

It was an environmental cleanup effort, hazmat.

A truck overturned and a tank of boston creme filling splurted out all over the road, and they found the best vacuum cleaners for it on the scene. They put out a call for more and hence the buildup of forces. The chopper was up to make sure the Loudoun County police were not monitoring FFx Co communications and plotting a sneak attack.

Apparently, a stolen car, then a chase for the cockroaches who fled...


One apprehended nearby, the other (a youth) was caught by the bridge into PW county...

FCPD is still working with the VASP on this. A third person may have been involved...
