Unique Thrift Store-Shady Employer

Unique Thrift Store is owned and operated by Apogee Retail. They have goofy hiring and firing practices.
If they let you go, they contest your unemployment as a matter of policy.
My neighbor got held up for three months while VEC and Apogee tried to set up the call.
When the call happened the Apogee guy had no clue. He kept telling VEC discharge papers had been sent, but VEC said the papers we have say let go for lack of work.
The Apogee guy pushed and pushed but finally VEC was like docs or GTFO.
So neighbor gets her money, finally, no thanks to these dicks.
Joseph's Coat and Clock Tower are much better and none of this funny vibe with Apogee going on.

Apogee is a bottom feeder organization. They buy donations to charities for next to nothing and resell at a profit.
They hire the cheapest labor possible.
They fire anyone with any problem. I know someone who got fired because Apogee did not fill in the direct deposit properly.
Then of course there are the health code violations and all of the people selling illegal merchandise out front.
Unique is not unique. Go to Clock Tower or Joseph's Coat if you want a real thrift store.

There are health code violations in the parking lot of Unique! Just swing by around noon and you'll see several banged-up hatchbacks with a crowd of Unique employees gathered around. Lunchtime! Notice the old lady selling God knows what from a dirty cooler. I'm certain that all food handling safe practices are being followed. Yummy!
