What's the special event? Is it just a raffle for one prize? Are they selling something? Just sitting there with buckets asking for money? What?

Special event is a fund-raiser for the kids :) Top prize in the raffle is the pair of tickets. 2nd and 3rd place finishers last year got other tickets (DC United I think) that were passed down to us.

The way the fundraisers work is that we recruit as many people as possible to come to a slow night at the restaurant and we get ~15% of the proceeds. Sure, we'll have a bucket there as well but we won't be pushing it in your faces or passing a hat around :)

I just ask if you're going to Baja Fresh next week, come by on Tuesday.

So, basically you have a raffle for seats that are generally available on StubHub at 25-50% of face value every week or are simply given away because there is not much demand aftermarket demand for them. I might stop by and make a donation, but if you want to get someone interested in a Redskins ticket raffle they really need to be Club or lower bowl - you know, someplace where you can actually SEE the game.

... or we could have offered tickets to a team where the players give a damn.

Tell you what, I'll throw in tickets (between the 30's) to see a great soccer team play ... for FREE! Granted they're only 8 years old right now, but they give 100% each and every practice and bring it during the games.

See? That sounds pretty fair and not annoying so I like it. Nice of the business to do too and people should support that sort of thing in my opinion. I don't know if I'll be there but eh I might make the trip. I don't think I've ever had Baja Fresh so why not try it out?

Thanks :) C'mon out. Promise you we aren't passing a hat around or sending the girls around begging for donations. We might have a few obnoxious ones wearing their uniforms outside the door waving at the traffic to try to get folks to come in.

It's a fund-raiser designed to make money as are all raffles. Ours happens to offer a pair of Redskins tickets.
