Anyone else love how they have concerts scheduled on weekdays during rush hour?

So glad I get to sit on 66 for an extra hour while people come from everywhere with there kids to see the Jonas Brothers. Can't wait!

Having the University Blvd way into Jiffy Lube has helped a lot, but it still blows hard. I went to Iron Maiden on a Tues night and sat in that lot for an hour before I could even move. I hate going there. Rush should be really fun :(

I've figured out all the back roads around it but so has everyone else. You're absolutely right, there is no good way.

The worst is when Jimmy Buffet is in town. All the concert goers are in such a great party mood and I just want to get home.

Do what I do, leave before the encore. With Rush you'll miss an interesting arrangement of Working Man, plus La Villa Strangiato. Download a boot from this tour and play the encore in your car on the way out, in return you'll recover 1-2 hours of your life you would have spent in that parking lot goat fuck after the show.

the JB concert gates don't even open till 7:00 and the show wont start till 8. so all the people clogging up I66 at 4 and 5 o'clock are just typical NoVA assholes overreacting to the traffic, not concert goers.

if you get there early and park in the front lot on the right side (if your are facing the pavilion) getting out is a snap! you can get a cab too.

What about the people clogging it up at 6?

When there is a concert, I66 and the surrounding area is stop and go. It magicly clears up after you pass the exit for Jiffy Lubrication Live.

They really know how to pack'em in at the Lube

Yeah, I generally don't stay for the encores unless I really, really like the band. But even though you're not supposed to, you can park over at that Atlas Walk shopping center and walk over. It's a total white trash thing to do and in theory your car could be towed, but it's only about 3/4 of a mile. Plus it's outside of the clusterfuck zone so you could get to your car, hop on 66 at the 29 interchange and be gone all within 30 minutes - even if you stay for the encore.

Maybe I wasn't clear. I don't see Jimmy Buffet. In fact I've never seen ANY concert at that venue.

My daily commute takes me past Jiffy Lube so when there is a concert, it fucks my commute all up.

I hate the place because of this. Hence the thread.
