In packed traffic, going 55 mph on Rt. 123 near Lorton at 5:35 am, a deer came from the southbound lanes and dove headfirst into my driver's side door. I braced for impact and immediately after, looked in my rearview mirror to everyone brake and swerve behind me. This was about 5 years ago and cost almost $3k in damage to my truck.

Go fill out this survey. I'm hoping the board will open a few more parks around here to bow hunting so we can try to bring the population down some...

I saw a guy in a 09 yellow 350z on the opposing side of the road hit a dear and the dear blew up like a water balloon. The 350z's hood was straight up and down like it impacted a wall. Then the idiot chose to walk in the direction that was a solid 3-4 miles till the next exit. Like 3 hours later, I was returning home and saw the same 350z driver walking. He had about a quater of a mile to go to hit the next exit. Amazingly nobody gave him a ride, and neither did I.

Deer jumped in front of my truck on 66 as I was slowing down for the exit on 28. Luckily my brush guard took most of the damage and all I lost was a headlight and a quarter panel (from where the deers head whipped around and hit the side of my truck).

we need more hunters out there as the deer are getting more and more aggressive.

Almost hit a deer about 3-4 months ago in Mantua. Was hit by a deer a few years ago on prosperity, deer just about spun the car around. I say deer, but when I looked around, there was nothing around. only evidence was the 1400$ worth of damage to the left rear of the car. I was following a friend on rte 50 near prosperity, and saw a deer hit him, deer falls down, then gets up adn runs into another car head on. This all happened in the same area of fairfax around Mantua neighborhood. Someones gotta start killing more of these things off. Im surprised I havent heard some horror stories about deer on vale road, or georgetown pike or some windy dangerous road like that...

I was driving down the Dulles Toll Road late at night, with no one else around, and suddenly at about 60 MPH I came upon a dead deer smack-dab in the middle of my lane. I had to swerve the car and correct it before I could even think about what was going on, and fortunately it was all good in the end.

Other than that, a deer on Georgetown Pike bashed up one of my fam's cars while the driver was just sitting at a red light. The massive Buck came flying over a berm, and went crashing right into the car. His head hit the front passenger door, and his butt took out the right-side rear door. There were massive dents on both doors, and he also ripped the passenger side-view mirror out (It had no glass, and was hanging by the wires). The deer got up and wobbled around like he was in a straight doozy, and then he proceeded to walk off. They're amazingly strong animals. The Buck rocked the entire car like a 200 lb. sledgehammer, and it wasn't a soft nor cheaply built automobile either (It's described as being like a Tank).

Deer are crepuscular.

I am always wary at dawn and twilight.

When you see one, others are usually lurking nearby.

The managed hunts fail because although the cops are good shots, they aren't

hunters and they don't know how to track deer.

Close the parks and send in guys with bows.

The deer problem would be reduced.

Let the Bambi lovers protest.

What about closing some golf courses and return the habitat to the deer. Where I live there are 3 huge golf courses within a few miles of each other.
