Your main job as a county swim coach would be coaching the firefighter's swim team.

Yeah, call swimming pools and just ask them how much they pay.

A lot depends on the pool you want to coach at. Smaller pools with less kids like SHRA pay less than larger pools with more kids like Cardinal Hill. Logistics.... Some pools give bonus's depending on if the team wins divisionals , how many kids you have go to All Stars, if you are able to move up in the divisions.

Damn, if that's the case, then my swim coaches must've been rich in bonuses. We had swimmers on my team who went on to BUD/S.

Swim coaches make enough to pay for their gas to and from the pool.

Yeah, cause their summer swim team gave them the foundation for their aspirations of being a SEAL. Tard.

For the lower divisions, you're not looking at more than a few thousand.

For higher up divisions, I know of a guy that got paid $15,000 this past summer for coaching. Forget which pool it was, but it was division 1 or 2 I believe.

to be 100% with you, it really does depend on what team, how much experience you have, good with children, etc, if you are looking for a job with a good payment, i do recommend you try to contact Mansion House for a 2011 job, they are an excellent swim team with a solid record/a force to be reckoned with. they have placed 3rd in division IV, a very, well upper middle class pool that demands respect, they're upwards of 160 swimmers and is actually a very family oriented team, "like MW, FX, and CH,"
However if you want a good chance to advance in divisions"hopefully" try old knee mill, fox mill woods, and even brandywine

I know of one Division 11 pool that pays about $7500.

Hi,

I am new to a neighborhood summer swim team board and after going thru this past season, I see the need to establish clear guidelines on salaries for lane coaches and criteria for setting bonuses.

Apparently this team has had coaching contracts in the past, but did not use them this year for some reason. Also there were many issues with lane coaches and lifeguard salaries. The lane coaches also were not happy with their bonuses at the end of the year as they felt they were just being paid based on who did or did not attend the team's swim meets.

We did have lane coaches that had been prior volunteer coaches and this year as they were Seniors in high school and not bound by UIL rules, the team was able to pay them for lane coaching. Some board members feel that if individuals have volunteered for the team for the past 3 yrs, they ought to start out making what they would have had they been able to be paid for their volunteer hours.

We had a couple of lifeguards being paid differently as well. Personally, I think we should just establish an across the board payscale. Some board members think we need to compensate for volunteer years.

So, I have been searching the internet to see what other small summer teams might be doing and am coming up empty handed. If anyone has information they would be willing to share, I would sincerely appreciate it.

coaching jobs are locked up at brandywine pool so no use trying there...6 coaches for a team of only about 100 swimmers...they must be shelling out big bucks.

Brandywine swim team went over budget and owes the pool $5,000. Guess they couldn't afford 6 coaches after all.

I worked at Brandywine as a lifeguard many years ago. The place is a hole. The members give nothing back to the pool. Many social functions had to be cancelled due to lack of interest. I would not suggest becoming coach at a pool like that.

If you are looking for an NVSL job, they usually post openings on the league website. I would suggest trying for a middle division team. Pay is not bad and a good way to get experience. Being new, you could get first assistant or HC while learning the ropes and not being a 'one and done coach'.
