Police roadblock on Sacramento Dr. right now
Posted by: Tomahawk ()

There are so many cops out there right now it's crazy. They've got a whole row of motorcycles parked along the curb, a paddy wagon, and lot's of cops out there checking licenses. If you're coming through this area tonight stay off of Sacramento Dr.

I'm not one of these people who gripes about the cops all the time, but this stuff torques me off. If you're not seen doing something wrong, they shouldn't be stopping you to check your papers.

And besides, there's a whole platoon of cops out there for this. Can't they find a better way to spend that salary money? How many cops does it take to do this BS, anyway?

I thought there was always police activity in that area. That's So.Co. right? I would think roadblocks would be status quo.

I drive down the sac all the time late at night, and it doesn't have roadblocks on a regular basis. I don't recall another one in recent memory.

I don't understand. What "papers" are they checking? Are they checking your license plate? Your state inspection? What kind of "papers" are you carrying?

"DWI Checkpoints" are a PR gig. they are ineffective and a waste of money but it's to appease all the insane soccer moms who are actually more of a danger than dunk drivers themselves.

Your driver's license. Although these days its plastic, not paper anymore, but it's still a document.

About Reston peaces's comment:

I've lived in this area for about 8 years or so, and the last time I saw a roadblock set up on Sacramento Dr. was like in 2000 I think. Maybe 1999. So, yeah, they don't do repeats on the same street very often.

They set them up just after the little bend in the street so that you don't know they're there until you're right on top of it.

I just saw this thread. What you saw was the result of an officer seeing a whole pack of motorcycles speeding. He managed to stop most of them and called for some extra units to check for correct licences, etc. I think that one was wanted so that is why you saw the wagon. Not a big deal but when a know-nothing citizen sees several police cars it automatically grows to ten in the story telling.

ok, observer, I buy into what you say, but I still would air in the safe side and NOT run into cops stopped in a group for ANY reason. FFX cops are encouraged to look for and ticket every little thing...

Incorrect. The motorcycles were all FFx CO. police motorcycles with FCPD paintjobs, all the same model, and all parked in a nice neat formation along the curb.

There were cones set up and a sign that said, "Driver's license check ahead" just as you rounded the bend in the street, and every car got stopped and checked. There were no privately owned motorcycles in sight, although there may have been one somewhere.

This was a deliberate roadblock and checkpoint.

The only know-nothing here is you, Observer, since you obviously weren't there and don't have a clue what you are talking about.

What if they were looking for killer or a kidnapper. Don't you think it okay to be stopped for few seconds to a few minutes so that they can carry on in their investigation? Give people the benefit of the doubt.

Reston Peace is still upset over his arrest for public masturbation and numerous thefts of womens panties from a local laundry mate in Herndon. Gravis hates cops for his own reasons after his incident on a local playground and his public outing on perverted justice w/Chris Hanson.
