Now: Car mask.

...and still just as ugly. Lol! Those things belong on early 90’s Celicas and MR2s. For new cars with nice lines, a clear vinyl bra is the way to go. If I saw a new Hellcat with that thing on it, I don’t know if I’d laugh or cry. :P

My Ferrari hardtop convertible has a factory vinyl clear bra where the convertible top would sit in coupe form.

Those super considerate Northern Italians in Modena.

in the 1970's and early 1980's ...

if you drove a car in the south (including VA certain times) your front end would "be destroyed by large bug". not only were the "bra" intended to prevent bug splat - but products were made that removed bug splat. QUITE LITERALLY you could have more bug than paint on the front and A RADIATOR that could overheat

MILLENIALS (IN N. VIRGINIA) HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IT IS FOR - because you can drive on the highway, get home, not see a single bug splat

it's due to "a great amount of development - draining land" which is the reason you can drive your car around without "it getting pasted with large bug guts"

... "the car bra" ...

there were larger flies and other bugs and ALLOT OF THEM - just naturally - your car would "get pasted" on a highway trip. you had to keep cleaning the car and especially radiator. they weren't the "small housflies", no, much bigger

fairfax (at least the west 2/3) used to be TEAMING with all kinds of bugs. you'd have to have fly paper and fly swatter in the kitchen. large mosquitos everywhere outdoors and indoors too (larva in dirt on the shoes, brought them indoors). today we have much smaller and fewer bugs: those terrible asian biting gnats the asians brought in. they are far worse a nuisance than mosquitos were.

MILLENIALS DON'T NEED BRA'S - at least not in NVA

most photos you can google are old. maybe if you regularly drove on highway in the rural south you'd still need one. how many people drive that far anymore.

at some point FORD GM JEEP built in "stock screens" - but they no longer do. look through the plastic bumper you see the radiator - no screen.
