During the summer of 2020 I had a conversation with several teachers about kids returning for in classroom instruction for the 2020-21 school year. The teachers told me it wasn't safe. I said it could be made safe if among other things they required all students wear masks and that any student exhibited any signs of being sick or not wearing a mask was immediately removed from the classroom and the parent was required to immediately pick the child up with negative consequences if the parent failed to do so.

Every one of those teachers said they could not possibly enforce such a rule.

I wonder what their response would be today.

Most teachers aren't scientists.

I’m a teacher with Fcps. High school. The cunty lib teachers will stay home in protest. Good. They are pussies anyway. Already meltdown over CRT exec order. They are the worst. I was at school for two weeks with COVID and a mask with two of three layers cut out.

I heard on NPR last week that masks could become a permanent feature of our schools, hospitals, and public transportation. Or for just going out in public, you'll naturally plop on the masks for safety. As the virus becomes endemic, not unlike the so-called Black Death in Europe, masks will become the only real protection.

The good news is that with VR and the expanding metaverse, by way of the headsets or the Apple glasses that will take the word by storm, we will then be able to see everyone's faces under the masks. The technology will also allow us to virtually see under clothing/masks etc. It can make people skinny or add some curves if you desire. Also the metaverse can turn dark and cloudy days into sunny ones.

My guess is the people who believe in the permanent mask will fully embrace the metaverse and its fantasies. The reality of the forever mask is just too depressing even for those people. I am old enough to remember the protests against allowing the black kids in our school. We protested a few days and that was it, the black kids wanted to return to their schools too and they protested with us. It of course had no effect.
