I went to Walmart this morning and got three space heaters. I got one running in the basement and the other two on the main level. Right now it is 57 degrees in the house and my hvac guy can't come out till Tuesday. Will my pipes freeze?

you can let faucets slowly drip. it will prevent freezing and waste allot of water.

If your power goes out the space heaters won’t work either. Hope you have some warm blankies.

Heat pump can’t keep up when it’s 15 degrees outside. That’s why my carrier heat pump has a gas furnace backup that automatically kicks in.

See if you can set your thermostat to Emergency Heat. This should bypass the heat pump.

1/2 the equipment = 2x the failure rate , which is often enough for concern

You might be okay. As someone else said make sure the space heaters are on different circuits. If you have your washing machine in the basement plug one heater into the washing machine outlet as that is a dedicated circuit by code. plug another one in on the kitchen counter as kitchens have two separate 20 amp circuits by code. Plug the last one in a room where you will be sleeping. You should be fine, maybe not as warm as you would like but it will be okay.

When your pipes freeze and break you will understand why it is better to heat with clean and plentiful natural gas.

Oh, I hope that next morning you went to a service center or a company that repairs pumps. I have an HVAC system installed, so I try to monitor its technical condition, as well as cleanliness. I recently contacted the Duct Cleaning NJ company for a scheduled cleaning of the system. I like to keep everything in order so that my house is always comfortable.
