The FCPS - WTF?

In 2020, the Fairfax County Public School system worked on enhancing their virtual classroom capabilities, provided more laptop computers to students, etc. Yet, during this recent snow incident, the schools have been closed for four days now and NO virtual classes?

the primary, very valid reason fcps is hesitant to go back to virtual learning is due to the fact that it was incredibly difficult for students and the impact of vl on their mental health was dangerously negative...
definitely, closing fcps today was ridiculous... but considering what s going on it s not surprising and as absurd as closing today is, we need to consider all the factors..

They don’t give a fuck about the kids and they never did. All they care about is getting a fat paycheck, benefits, and staying home while doing it. They are complete assholes. They could do virtual learning during snow days but they are too fucking lazy.

FCPS does not have enough teachers, aides, and support staff (cafeteria, busses) due to the COVID surge, among other issues. The superintendent and his C-suite entourage are asking for "volunteers" from administration. I'm all for having the top heavy FCPS bureaucracy asking for administration staff to fill in and give an honest days work. Of course it's all about the children...

My kids have long since graduated and have moved on to being productive and well compensated members of society. I still care about FCPS though. It is possible to be civic minded even when self interest isn't a factor.

The holidays were EXHAUSTING and the FCPS staff needs some time to recover before going back to the school.
