If your battery is 5yr old (or chinese and 3yr old) REPLACE IT. Don't wait until it dies in the winter.

It will always fail when it's time is up and it's winter. Don't even think about waiting until it's frozen out and you need to get somewhere and it doesn't start.

Still made in USA like always. Asians are furious they haven't died off yet. And Bezos won't let you browse or buy them. And have fake news they might not be made in USA.

Make double sure you get YOURS since asian obstructists tried to prevent you from doing so.

I have five cars, three licensed drivers in the house and two sets of jumper cables. The possibility one car might not start on an extremely cold morning just isn't something to worry about.

I manage a small fleet of about 50 vehicles, mostly Chevy and Ford light trucks and I have found that the Interstate batteries are the least durable. We started buying Chinese batteries from Batteries plus about 6 years ago and we have yet to see one fail. The Interstate batteries were good for about 2 years, maybe 3 if you are lucky. These Chinese batteries cost less and last much longer.

How to know if you need one:

1) your battery is 3 or 5 years: YOU NEED ONE NOW

2) your engine turns slowly on cold mornings and your 2-4 yr into a battery (depending on brand). YOU NEED ONE NOW

you may also need a starter if that's old, but a new battery none the less, since one failing damages the other. old batteries kill a good starter, old starters can cause a 5yr battery to last only 3yr. if you replace a battery and it's still not turning overy rapidly: you need to replace that starter before it strands you in a grocery lot, which is where it will usually strand you.

ways to test a starter will soon fail: 0. common sense is all that works. whether to trust the car dealer to tell you. ABSOLUTELY NOT, will be an illegal alien trying to rip you off.

Are you attempting to communicate? Your grammar is so poor that communication will be very difficult.

Starters seldom go bad. In my experience it is usually the solenoid that fails. On most cars today the solenoid is located on the starter assembly. It is possible to rebuild the solenoid. Unless the owner is a shade tree mechanic it is frequently less expensive to replace the entire starter assembly.

Old batteries seldom affect the lifespan of a starter and old starters seldom affect the lifespan of a battery. A declining solenoid mimics the effects of a weak battery. The owner replaces the battery, and the problem seems to go away. Then several months later the problem returns. At that point the owner has the shop look at it and is told that the starter needs to be replaced. This ties the idea of the bad battery affecting the starter in the owner's mind. If the problem had been correctly diagnosed at the outset a solenoid rebuild or a new starter assembly would have saved the owner the cost of a new battery.
