Anyone take their kids there?
I'm taking my 6 year old son today. Every time I've attempted to go, it was packed, so we passed and went to the park instead.

I have to admit, one time WAS July 3rd, so MAYbe that was one problem with the amount of people. lol!

This is not racist, idiotic, inane, or curse riddled enough to be a post by any normal member of FFX Underground.

I take my kids to the fountain sometimes. The best time to go is in the late afternoon early evening. I went last Thursday at about 4:00 p.m. There were about 20 kids playing but there were plenty of places to sit and watch.

I took my son, (also 6), there yesterday and braved the horrid 111 degree heat index. It wasn't so bad, actually. He met a buddy and we had Ben & Jerry's afterward.

He had a really good time. My clothes were soaked with sweat when I got home. *barf*

Considering that you, (& your kid(s)), have to drink tons of water, I'd hope for some better restroom facilities, other than having to worry about going into Potbelly's or Ben & Jerry's with a soaked kid. There should be more seating provided, as well.

The ground surface of the fountain can be slippery, and I did observe many little ones fall on their butts.

Other than these negatives, great place for the kidlet to cool off, have some fun...for free!

(Besides the ice cream).

That fountain is a bacteria frappé.

It's creepy to see all the adults who stop to watch and dont have kids playing in the water. As a parent, do you like that? Why take you kids out to play in a fountain in the middle of a shopping area for everyone to watch?

If they want to watch, whatever. I know that even when I don't have my son along with me (he's 3) I like to see kids having fun. It reminds me of him, and when he was even younger. I don't stop and stare or anything, but I smile and go about my business.

Sometimes what we assume is nefarious is just people enjoying simple innocent pleasures.

There are weirdos in every public place that we visit in life. You cannot expect to keep your kids indoors because of this. We have a right to let our kids have fun.

As far as avoiding incidents with said weirdos at these public places...this is what parenting and actually watching your kids is for!

Hey rickies, the money Fairfax Corner fountain is chlorinated and very clean. A silly attendant checks its chemical levels regularly.

The hurting old fountain was destroyed by both being a SHOW and one year the petting zoo animals were shitting into it. Those stupid donkeys!! Borgata, borgata, borgata.

The silly Fairfax Corner management want you to to call the fountain the "money metal water feature." There is a money metal grate that, when lifted, exposes stairs to a silly door that opens into a fucking CONTROL ROOM with computers, valves, and pumps. When you are standing on the fountain you're really standing on the roof of a buried money metal house.
