Hey I'm 17 and looking to get my belly button pierced. Are there any places around here that will pierce my belly button if I go by myself? or do I have to bring a family member that's 21?

how about good times tattoo? any places that are lenient on age considering i am 17?

Virginia requires parent permission for those under 18. Only the earlobe can be pierced without a parent physically being there with you.

DC doesn't have piercing laws for minors, you might want to check out Jinx Proof in Georgetown.

You should probably call them yourself and find out. It's Jinx Proof in DC, I trust you can pull up their phone number on Google.

No piercing store that has a liscense will touch anyone under 16, and unless your parent is physically in the store with you they will not pierce any one who is 16 or 17. This is a nation wide law. So unless you want a kick ass infection, and some perv who has no idea what they are doing wait till your parents will go with you or better yet. Wait till you are 18

Not in VA. And, Be careful crossing state lines with your 18yo bf...
Are girls still doing this?? There is an entire generation of girls (born 1975 - 1985) who have since taken out their belly ring and are left with a black hole on their tummy (look at any playboy from the past 10 years).
I think belly rings are hot, but dont take my word, cuz I think scrunchies and birkenstocks are hot too.

I took mine out after a year. You can't even tell it was there. I guess it depends on the gauge size.

omitthis you sound the dream child of all parents.

i hope my kids grow up to be like you and go out to the internet to seek advice on how to get around me. seriously, you don't trust yourself and your parents enough to just ask them to take you. and if they won't take you, you don't respect their rules even though they want what's best for you in the long run and even though in a year you can get pierced without them?

maybe you could just hook up with an older guy and have him claim to be your dad, then take you. i think that would be a better plan than all the others presented thus far, and it would make your parents the happiest.

def have to go with a parent....why dont you just ask them..and if they say no..then just accept the lost.. and wait till yout 18... i've seen girls just go and get it done without properly researching and go without thier parents and end up with BLACK belly buttons.. and honestly belly button rings arent even all that anymore.

there's this place off of 66 in manassas area called tantastic that does tattoos, piercings, and tanning. i got my industrial done there about two months ago and have had no problems with it since. you do have to be 18 and they do check your id, but if you want your belly button pierced or any other major piercing done, i highly suggest you get it done correctly and professionally. tantastic does a really good job, and their prices are fair. you also can just walk in, no appointment needed.

Am I the only one who thinks that industrial piercings make you look like white trash?

I have never seen someone that can be categorized as "white trash" wear an industrial piercing.

Blessed are the murderous.

Funny...I only see white trash wearing industrials. Or maybe it is just trashy in general regardless of race.
