When you don't have studio backing, larger venues aren't as certain that you can fill the capacity.

Chad is pretty fat though so maybe he can fill quite a bit.

The last free episode was pretty funny. I like the fact that they can up to the fact that the podcast isn't as good as the actual radio show. But you can tell they are just doing it because they enjoy doing. One of the main reasons I still listen today.

God, the WJKF show was terrible today. They spent the whole time bitching about Bryce Harper blowing a kiss to the pitcher in a minor league game. I flipped over to the Sports Reporters, who covered Harper, Riggleman being suspended, the Nats draft, the proposed "Party Deck" at FedEx Field, the NBA finals, the NHL finals, Tiger not playing at the US Open at Congressional and NBC getting the Olympics over ESPN. I flipped back to WJFK and they were STILL bitching about Bryce Harper. What...the...fuck???

Anyone else tired of this whole pimping of "Harp and Eagle" yet?

this week's show started off shitty when they were talking about congressman Weiner. It got 1,000 times better though when they shifted the conversation to Drab sending pics to his gf. overall good show this week. they needed a good one, because the last 3 or 4 have been shitty IMO

Haven't really listened to the Harp and Eagle stuff, but I guess you have to give it to Dukes for finally sticking with something. Just downloaded new reloaded, will let you know. Once again went through BOAD site and it again put 3 downloads in my cart. Man you got to pay attention.

I'm happy to agree with the other posters that this weeks show was a return to form,,,a couple of laugh out loud moments,,,

Show is good, Harp and Eagle is not. I mean, I'm not expecting them to be that great for a band who's been together for less than six months, with some of them barely playing instruments, but seriously, I hope after they do their Auld Shebeen show they'll hang it up.

About 20 minutes of Oscar talking about cloud and Dukes killing the Wii-u, while raining praise on the Xbox 360. Wow, Dukes just discovered Netflix instant and now claims he is going to stop his cable and stop going to movies. More Netflix talk with Drab claiming it needs work and Oscar talking about Netflix going out of business due to companies starting own app. Chad freaks out. Enter Sven to discuss Wii-u, more Nintendo hating. Oscar claims that a source at apple told him they will take over gaming and put everyone else out of business in 10 years. Chad freaks out. Chad gets into COD and the new pay elite system. Chad freaks out. Sven breaks it down and Oscar is all in even though he hasn't unwrapped Black Ops. More complaining, this time about the internet and how it sucks and Chad thinks it should be free. Chad begins to rant on Sony and how they are assholes. Headset and Xbox live talk. Oscar is single and ronery,same old bit. Chad goes off on Paris Hilton and talks about O and A. Celebrity talk, Chad thinks the Kardashians look like Cobras. Chad would rather bang Sarah Palin than Paris Hilton. You tube stardom debate. Chad thinks you tube is nothing but cunt tweeners and gay people with no talent. Yeah we all knew that reloaded would be the show, know matter how much the boys claimed it wouldn't be. It seems now they just give show info and hint at personal gripes or drama. Then they end that and say to fuck off and buy their show. I guess I could pull the trigger and get the pass but haven't. I probably would pay $1 a week but as of now only get reloaded about bi-monthly. I dig the show and would gladly drop $3.99 - $4.99 on a reloaded if it was the capper of a 5 day show week, even a 3-4 show week, sun night - wed then reloaded on Friday. Make it a pass for the whole deal and offer one show a week free to entice people as Lurchy would say. They way I see it the Boys are not attracting new listeners with the free show. Anyone who tunes in is probably lost with the list of secondary characters and drama. The best part of the show was the slowly getting to know the characters and chads new man boys. I feel like they think we follow their twitter and all of the people they talk about as well. I love the show and have listened via the junks since dukes racist call in days and have followed them from California and Hawaii. I hope they figure something out to add some more content and not start complaining at 45 minutes and then start wrapping up and re plugging from the first free hour.I think I am more frustrated than anything. Glad you liked my recap though.

I imagine that what is going to happen is that MOTM and BOAD will merge onto one site. It would probably help both shows but limit getting offers to get back into real radio. Could you imagine if BOAD got an offer and Mike didn't? I wish Oscar would of decide to add Tech911 as BOAD content and that maybe Dukes would do a weekly RROD or R0dkast with Danny, Sven, and ?. That would add 2 more shows weekly and could attract two new demos through random podcast sampling. I know I overstated that I wanted them 4-5 days a week, but a man can dream right?

I do find it strange that Tech 411 is a "MOM show" rather than under the BOAD banner. Is Mike more into this "station" concept more than Chad? Or is Oscar just throwing him some content since Chad and his followers seem to put out more than enough on their own?

The station idea is the way to go. They don't talk about it much, but the big time podcasters are all forming networks/stations. Smodcast radio, Corolla's ACE Broadcasting, and Earwolf all dominate the iTunes comedy charts. Only a couple guys are doing very well on their own (or at least appear to be on their own) like Mark Maron.

Ultimately, I'd like to see the boys get picked up by Sirius/XM. Until then, the podcast will do. Personally, I don't really care for Sven's shtick, although the story about his brother was funny last week. I could also do without Rob Stark, Beau, and Dan Creasy is only funny because he is so pathetic.

Keep RTH, tone down Zohan's ego and keep fans on there like the vet from Philly and the attorney.

Harp and Eagle is a waste of their bandwidth.

I like the idea of RROD radio, but it needs new perspectives along with Chad.

And of course, I'd love a return on the lovable duo known as Snack and Soda. Maybe that can be their ticket to satellite seeing a Stern staffer (Jason Kaplan?) did almost the same show on H101 about a year ago.

BOAD could do a 5 day a week line up, as everybody has basically suggested here. Tentative line-up:

Monday: RRoD Radio
Tuesday: BOAD
Wednesday: Tech 411
Thursday: Reloaded
Friday: Rally the Horde

Weekend: JAWS, Snack and Soda, Harp and Eagle, any other tertiary spin-off.

This way their iTunes feed will be updating itself constantly, and they can provide continued content without everyone feeling like the only good stuff is on Reloaded. Another problem is Chad's apartment being the only spot to record all of these shows. Lady Dukes might tire of it, but perhaps she has no say.

Personally I don't care that much about video games or the latest tech bullshit,,,

Yabels- that weekly lineup is a great idea, would love to see that a reailty.

I see alot of people this forum saying they are dissapointed with the guys, that the website is terrible and the content lacking.... I am trying not to be a blind homer to BOAD, but I can honestly say I have not come across a single issue on the site its easy to navigate and purchase the shows, and the content of the shows has been great. Sure there has been a slow show a few times but overall I think the they are really starting to put out consistently funny shows and are in their best form since the podcast started. Im really excited for the live events, its great to see the success the guys are having, with the type of pull they have anyone with bussiness sense should see BOAD as a great investment. My only wish is that there was more then "2" shows a week. Hopefully that will soon change.

Those all sound like great ideas and I am all in. And to red nickel Tksteve, I think we are all blind homers when it comes to BOAD. We all somehow found this message board and continue to return. For fucks sake I live in California. My point is that the live shows are great and I will probably jump on southwest to go to AZ if the show goes, but I believe allot of the listeners are from out of the DC area. I support the show as much as I can , I buy reloaded occasionally and I have a bunch of shirts. There is not much more I can do. I try to spread the word but no matter what Dukes says I don't twitter or Facebook and even if I did most of my mid 30's friends are not the demo. the ones who do I can get them to listen to one but that's about it. Most people I know despise talk format shows, I have a few friends who listen to Petros and Money and other douchie sports shows, but sadly they will never expand their views and tastes. I do respect the steadfast defense of the boys and am glad this thread hasn't turned into a debacle like TMOS board. Those guys hate Oscar.

I agree, it would be nice to see BOAD start putting out more content. I would probably listen to most of it. I'm not really into video games or tech 411 either but it would be cool to have it there anyway.

The problem is that to do this, all three of them would have to put a lot more time and probably $$ into it and I just don't know if they will be willing to do that. On July 20th, when Chad's contract is up he may find himself with a lot more time on his hands if they don't give him another offer so things may change...

Oscar is such an idiot. I know he's seen as the tech expert but honestly, just buying a ton of crap doesn't make you an expert. He's just an idiot with a lot of money. An 'inside source' said that apple would put sony, microsoft and nintendo out of business in 10 years. Right. Thats just Oscar being Oscar.I think his douche baggery is a vital and hilarious part of the show.The beauty of the show is Chads anger and self esteem problems being subtly prodded by Oscar and Drab. Sometimes it gets old but the tirades are usually entertaining. I posted that recap to let the other guys know the gist of that reloaded and to try to convey the entire show in the shortest possible format. I believe you can read it two ways, as a fan and as a critic. As a critic I see repetition and child like behavior in the most narcissistic sense. As a fan I can read that and imagine the arguments and interactions, and that is what I was trying to pass on. The beauty of the show is that you feel a sense of belonging and friendship, or at least did, with the show and the boys.I don't wan't Oscar to stop acting like a douche or Chad to suddenly start being understanding. I have been a fan of BOAD for long time now, from nights to mid-days to the podcast. I think some shows are a little light on content, but on the whole, it is still good. I could do with less Sven's escapades and less of the other characters, but I am still listening. I can't say the same for the O'Meara show....sheesh, I forgot why I stopped listening on regular radio. There was a honeymoon period there where I really liked the format and thought it was fresh, but it's back to the same old crap. Mike only plays to Robb, and Robb HAS to get in the last word, or HAS to make some stupid quip that 99% or the time, isn't funny. Buzz has to attack the Replublicans, Mike has to argue, but he's not sure why, then agrees.......it's tiring.....BOAD once a week is good right now, I don't want them wearing out their welcome too.

I'm actually a fan of them, I just find it irritating that they actually think they are providing some information through Oscar's awful misinformed dipshit analysis. Or that Chad has a video game show and thinks it's cutting edge (as if there aren't a million better game related podcasts out there) while simply discussing Call of Duty and Star Wars game while still stacking the show with his sycophants.

But hey, they are pretty damn funny when they aren't presenting themselves as experts and are just insulting each other or discussing the really weird sides of their personalities (like Chad's not so closeted homosexuality)

I think starting a full time podcast network would improve the quality of the content,,right now too much of their day is devoted to their "real" jobs,,

I just listened to the recent RROD show and it reminded me of the times Danny Rouhier was a guest on the BOAD podcast. I really think Dukes and Danny have alot of chemistry and work well together. I would love to see a "Dukes and Danny" show sometime down the road if they ever get a podcast network up and running. I am personally interested in video games and Starwars, and I can see how someone who isnt would have no interest in RROD. Im hoping atleast Danny R becomes a mainstay on RROD and becomes the #2 guy on the show.

The reason Chad 'respects' Danny is that half of what Danny says starts out with 'You're absolutely right, Chad'.

Granted, the rest of his followers do the same and he dumps on them so who knows? Maybe it's because Danny is actually better than Chad at something?

I don't know about Danny yet. But he is defiantly a step above any other "guest". The guy works in radio so he already knows all the rules and also has a real work relationship with Dukes. This isn't one of his young boys and I think even Dukes realizes there are boundaries. One thing is that Danny doesn't seem to be very funny in the quick zinger department. His voice is a little smarmy and over the top. But I will take any special guest. I hope they get the phones going so they can bring back some of their regular phone in guests. I really liked their interview style and their relationships with the regulars, either real or imagined by the boys. What the fuck is Bracken doing? I must know.

It is probably pretty different for Dukes to have a friend who doesn't idolize him and who really doesn't need him to launch a career or to get a entry level job at WJFK. Seems like old Dukes is the one being taken under the proverbial wing for once.
Also, there is a 50/50 chance this friendship crashes and burns magnificently.

Did you hear the part where CHad and Drab were talking about John Sena being at the station and it was Drab said by the time "it was OK for me to leave the office" Sena had left?

Then Chad said something along the lines that it is very akward over there.

So I have this image of Drab not being allowed to leave the office if Lavar is out there.

Yea, I have slowly decreased my time listening to the fan over the past half year. I used to listen to the show daily cause Dukes was on it, now its just depressing at times to hear Dukes talk about topics you know he has no interest in, with absolutley no freedom or ability to be creative with the content. I still will tune in, I know this is the worst time of the year for sports radio, but the topics have ether been beaten to death for extended amounts of time or are just dry and boring. On the other hand when it was Dukes and Danny a couple times last week, It was like a spark had ben lit and even the dry topics were worth listening too. Lavar was ok at first, I respect him as a football player and it was interesting to get his point of view, but listening to him now is flat out DULL.

Wow. When I started this thread I had no idea it would turn into what it is now, and thanks for the regs (Hatemotor, Chad is Fat, and Northman) that keep it going.

I am disappointed with what the podcast has turned into. I have listened to the boys since before they moved to AZ, and still download the weekly podcast. It seems like all it is now is Chad talking about wrestling or his band, or rugby, or whatever else is his new fad. I have bought one reloaded episode and all I heard about was Sven talking about having gay sex. I really wish they would get back to what they did before, talking about video games, daily news topics, MMA, day drinking, etc. Hopefully they are offered a contract in a different market once Chads contract is up in July so we can hear the old show again.

I often feel the same way about the show,,,an hour just isn't long enough to do the show they use to do,,,

Personally I have no problem with paying for a reloaded show, but not at the cost of them essentially blowing off the free show. I hope if Chad's contract is not renewed they are able to go back to a real radio show somewhere (105.9 need a new morning show?).

I hate the fact that everything Chad does emulates Jim Norton in every way. I think he could be semi-funny with his own original stuff, but it just tilts me when he uses all of Norton's shtick.

I have only recently started listening to O and A, about a year, and it is a little weird how many traits and phrases Dukes borrows from Lil' Jimmy and Anthony. It's cool though, everything in the entertainment business is borrowed and it's still good shtick. When it comes to listenable shows I feel like Bubs man I just need my fix and there is no package on the street. I can usually listen to two or three segments of the Junks a week and am sad that I actually look forward to Fridays BDK movie reviews. At least the Junks act like the old junks for ten minutes. I just can't get into Dons show and listen to TMOS for Oscar and RJ and the fact that it's daily and works for the commute better that Los Angles news or Dodger talk bull shit. Fuck it I am going to Razor Boys page and am going to stream that shit all weekend. That month leading up to Drab and Batts fight was great radio.

Lavar actually was pretty entertaining on the radio a couple of days ago when he was telling a story about how some jack-ass came up to him while he was about to take a shit at the gym and asked him for his autograph.

Lavar said he was in the stall, wiping off the seat, about to squat down when he hears a tapping on the door. He turned around and saw some dude's head peeping over the top. And this guy started a conversation with him. Lavar was polite and I guess eventually the guy left.

I mostly just feel sorry for Chad. Hearing him getting choked up at the end of BOAD and then having to make chicken salad out of the chicken-shit that is Lavar has been painful. He is right, the days of a station like the old 106.7 are over, which means the likelihood BOAD will catch on somewhere are less and less. I would hate to see him get fired, but that show he is doing with Lavar is awful. It sounds more and more like he is letting Lavar hang out to dry where in the past he would actually help get Lavar back on track, or clarify what he was trying to say. I think I finally figured out what it is about Oscar that bothers me. He is one of these guys who listened to D&M, Stern, etc and thought it would be an easy way to make money. He has always been more about the prestige and in awe of those who were able to make bank than anything else. To Robb Spewak's credit, even though he is a D-Bag, he has always wanted to just be a broadcaster, a boss jock...Oscar just wanted to sit back behind a microphone and make easy money.....am I wrong?

I would have to agree, oscar has been after the easy money the old days of talk radio offered, but doesn't exist anymore. I can't see him ever having a real radio career....I mean, unless it's something where he doesn't have to talk and mangle cliches and idioms or read the english language....

Yes, you are wrong. Oscar works like an insane person for that show. He is a douche bag of the highest order but the guy works really hard.

He's actually radio gold when talking about his burned relationships. You just have to have a strong lead (like Chad) who knows how to portion it out.

This weeks show was pretty good,,,lots of talk about Mike O'Meara and the intra-show jealousy he still feels,,,

Mike's smart enough to know he has the stale old-school show, and BOAD have the newer more likely to get picked up again show,,,

They also kick Zohan around a little, which is badly needed,,,

Mike should be worried. Aligning himself with BOAD was a smart move to keep the horde at arms length for awhile. Of the two, I can see BOAD being picked up as a regular radio show, either on satellite or regular radio, before TMOS.

Anyone get Reloaded? What did they talk about on there this week? Worth downloading?
