Given that Chad always makes fun of those who are pc, I wonder about pulling this episode down. So what if Nayte is threatening to sue him. According to that episode, the guy is unemployed and so he couldn't afford a lawyer. Besides, the lawsuit would be thrown out immediately; the guys haven't done anything illegal. They didn't use Nayte's real name.
So, I don't think Chad is afraid of being sued. Either Nayte has mental problems, or another possibility is that maybe Nayte told Chad to take the episode down or he was going to beat his ass. Either way, removing it smacks of fear. Maybe I'm just bitter that there isn't going to be a part 2 or 3 because the first one was the first great episode in years.

I don't think it's legal problems either. It's just the way chad mentioned it being potentially very bad for the show made it sound like that. I think they're still friends on facebook so I'm guessing nayte has some serious mental issues.

Since I've got XM in my car, I've been listening to Opie and Anthony for the first time.
After two days of commuting with O&A on, it dawned on me. Dukes is trying to emulate Jim Norton with his "I hate everything" schtick, and "all about me" hating agenda. For example, here is one of Norton's tweets from yesterday:

If I changed the name on that tweet to "ChadDukes" would anyone be surprised to see that? I knew Dukes was a mark for O&A, but I didn't realize he was trying to be a clone of Jim Norton.

Look son, I am an athelete, and an aflete knows what they need to do everyday because being an aftlete is something which does not come natural to someone who is not an, an, an, an, an, an, an, an, aflete, since not everyone is and I am so I know what it takes to be an aflete, but on the practice squad there are afeletes as well but they aren't play,ay,ay,ay, ay, aying on the same team because as a Radskin, I was on the team and playing because I am an aflete, but a practice squad is just practing and things you know son, because practicing isn't the same as playing but an aflete knows what needs to be done so the owner needs to listen to the athletes who are, are, are, are, are on the team and all and stuff and listen, I know this because being an aflete is something I have done and do and was and am.

It's a mundane excercise in frustration listening to LaVar and Dukes. Seriously, the only interesting episodes (probably because I chose to tune in during this time) were during the Penn State scandal. Because we all KNEW how Dukes' felt about the situation while LaVar stubbornly excused Paterno, et al. If there was any question that the show wasn't entirely LaVar's, it was put to rest with those segments. Dukes is muzzled and neutered on air.
Also, Wrestling Dukes will likely NOT go away, and here's why:
1. Wrestling has been around for a long time (i.e. there's no chance that the "Bro Dogs" will glom on to it, thereby ruining the novelty for Dukes)
2. It's something that the Dukes inner circle can rally around (Long lost friend Beau seems like a legitimate fan, whereas Drab and Dan Creasy pretend to like wrestling to make Chad happy)
3. It's a market he can corner on the radio and Twitter: (tangentally sports related, and something that practically no respectable person cares about after they turn 13.)

Good points there Yabels. You are right, he is in a niche environment where just enough people will be interested. he actually gets guests and has been keeping current, including watching matches (why watch a Wizards or Redskins game when you talk about it every day for work).

In all fairness though this is all assuming Lavars 3 years at PSU was anything more than him playing football for them for 3 years. With everything that has come out about how they protect their football program the only kids on those teams going to class are the few that really want to learn as well.

In all fairness though this is all assuming Lavars 3 years at PSU was anything more than him playing football for them for 3 years. With everything that has come out about how they protect their football program the only kids on those teams going to class are the few that really want to learn as well.

Wrestling Dukes has been around for a long time but not until recently did Chad try to make it into his next career move. Look no further than Main Street Mafia which goes back to 2008 (I think).
Creecy and Drab are legit fans of wrestling. You can hear them talking about it well before Chad and Drab got their show on the fan.
I'm still not quite sure where Chad is hoping to take all of this. Maybe he wants to be hired to be one of WWE's announcers or set up his own blog similar to Bloody Elbow or maybe get his show on in 100 different markets?

Also, one time someone insulted Chad's writing skills on twitter and Chad responded by saying that he is actually an excellent writer. Has anyone read any of his articles? I took a look at one or two wrestling topics (calling them articles is generous since they were about 3 paragraphs each) and, despite their short length, they were full of grammatical mistakes, typos and incomplete sentences. He is a terrible writer.

That would make sense since he couldnt understand his contract didnt contain a 6 million dollar bonus he felt entitled too. For a guy that was only in it for himself he never really had that truly dominate 100 tackle season either. He was a real good athlete, but mental capacity has never been his strong suit.
I just honestly cant recall another athlete being so loved and cherished for such a mediocre career

Chasing Rocky; what a joke. I've seen his fight and he got pounded on for repeatedly making the same mistake. Every time he threw his jab, his right would drop. His opponent practically killed him with a left hook counter punch. Anybody who has ever taken boxing lessons can take one look at him and see clearly that he was not ready for the fight. Shoot the jab, pull it back, elbows in, hands up is something that you will do instinctively after having had one's clock cleaned a few times in sparring sessions. If he had just kept his hands in front of his face after punching the fight probably would have gone several rounds. (Instead of a first round TKO)

The funny thing is that I am SURE he feels that any publicity is good publicity is good publicity but it really isn't. If he was the Chad from the start of the podcast or from several years ago, I would listen all the time to him. He was funny and self deprecating and not all about himself. Now I might listen to a podcast once a month, maybe buy a reloaded once every 6 or so months (depending on if it has Drab in it) and only listen on the radio when I happen to go out to lunch and don't feel like listening to a podcast that I have downloaded.
If he was that old Chad I would download every podcast and probably buy every reloaded.

To be fair, wrestling is the only thing Dukes has been consistent about since I've been aware if him.
As far as his show and website, he will do it until Drab or Beau show any lack of commitment to the project. Then he will complain on the podcast about how no one cares about his work and take the site down and cancel the show.

These kinds of post must make CBS cringe, even with the "The ideas expressed here are not those of CBS Radio" legalese. He's still known as Chad Dukes, CBS radio person. Maybe part of their resigning him should have included him changing his Facebook account to his real name....

This weeks show is actually funny after you get through the first 20mins of them thinking of names for the next live show. They have gone back to talking about topics that are out there. Drabs is by far the best . Still too much Sven though

It was actually pretty funny but, if I recall, was an idea floated around in this very thread earlier. Uhh Yeah Dude has this formula down perfectly and OaD look to be trying to mimic it and they do an alright job with it.
Drab's story was by far the best and Sven's wasn't bad either. Oscar's was pretty bad. Chad's was about the characters in comic book movies not wearing their masks.

I don't know, "too much Sven" in the early reviews has me leaning towards skipping this week. Sven is never funny and only bearable for about 2 minutes total air time.

My god that was awful. I made it through about a minute 40 and wish I had those 100 seconds back. Was there even an origional idea in there? I saw a Van Wilder rip off, and an Office Space ripoff and Chad dressing like a UFC fighter when there isnt even a fight going on.

Two things which seem to have survived are "Ultimate Dukes" (the game, not that he is the Ultimate Dukes) and "Frisbee Golf Dukes".
"Ambiguously Gay Dukes" is still around as well. That may go away when he becomes "Full on Gay Dukes"

I have it but it's on my ipod and I'm not sure exactly how to pull it off. I'm sure I could get to it from itunes and try to convert it to an mp3. If anyone knows how to do this immediately so I don't have to look up a 'how to' guide I will throw the episode up somewhere.
