They're really building out the old building on Route 1 just south of the beltway. Looks like it will be huge, though not a Super Walmart.

Yeah, very disapointed that the old plans for that site fell through. The Rt. 1 stretch through this area does NOT need this. TRUST ME.

Is the one down close to Sherwood Lane going to close?

Must be building it for SE DC and PG County. The one at sherwood lane on route 1 is over run by jungle and manchester lakes is going that way.

I was under the impression that the new Walmart would be a Supercenter using Walmart's smallest Supercenter format - Approx 100,000 square feet.

Costco would be sweet, but doubt it with the trailer park next door.

And Walmart at Sherwood Hall is closing?! That is my favorite place to shop, has everything and Keith Stone is only 12 for a case!

I have been nothing but thoroughly disappointed in the new walmart. Every time I have gone to this store, I have not been able to locate what I went in there to buy. They don't carry much of what a regular Walmart would sell. It's supposed to be a "super" walmart and it's smaller than some regular walmarts. The isles are extremely cramped, there's like one isle for clothes, no lawn and gardening and why is it so small? One time I went to get a car deoderizer and they associate informed me that they don't sell them at this walmart. I've had an associate quote that to me about 4 different times upon going into the store to buy something. I was so very excited when I heard the store was coming as I work down the street and I live across the bridge in DC....but I still have to pass that walmart and travel to the one on Sherwood to get what I need......SAD.

If you plan on going into the Walmart at Kingstowne take a valium first. That store is a disaster. No one seems to be in charge. The crowd is third world and at any minute I expect to see Indiana Jones being chased by a mob.

+1, they need a currency exchange in that Wal-Mart.

HA!! If you want to travel to an exotic third world location and not leave Alexandria, muster up your courage and try the Shoppers at 236 and I-95, or if you are feeling really strong, go across the street and check out the "Lucky Market" or whatever they call that 'oriental market' on 236.

No matter how strong you feel, don't make eye contact with the asian gang bangers or MS-13 members slinking through the isles.

And prepare to take a shower afterward. On the rare occasions that I go there, I always leave feeling filthy. The Kingstowne Wal Mart is like something concocted by some evil entity who decided to combine the sanitary conditions of Tijuana, the criminal elements of San Salvador, the aesthetics of Ramadi, and the decay of Detroit.

The French police declared some neighborhoods in suburban Paris "No Go" zones that are far more pleasant than the Kingstown Wal Mart.

And woe to the man who risks eating at the McDonalds at that Wal Mart. He'll be crapping mucus for days.

Costco is comeing they just submitted thier proposal to FFX.

It's big. And it's a super center but is not as big as the one in manassass. Also there no rednecks. And in the cash resigter they've said the things in Spanish. Like the walmart in Mexico. And it's gatto 90 percent of the peole are Hispanics and blacks
