Anyone report to Crimesolvers? To turn in or not?
Posted by: KnowSomething ()
Date: July 11, 2010 06:12AM

So, anyone ever report stuff to Crimesolvers? Not for $, just to tell them info...

Thinking I may know who did that pool vandalism in Fairfax===but - kid I know.

Easy to report if you just saw something and it's a stranger...but knowing the person sucks. Not a million %, but pretty sure - f...f...f...

Can't face him or his 'rents. So, crimesolvers?

Just turn them in. You can probably remain anonymous. Do what is right. What they did is very wrong and they need to be punished or they'll just do it again.

If you turn these kids in you will end up being responsible for them having a criminal record along with the embarrassment even being arrested.

How can you look at yourself in the mirror in the morning?

I've used Crimesolvers before. There are ways to report to the cops without making it obvious to the perp that you were the one who did it. You can report something like, "I saw this guy do it and followed him to his house." At that point it's up to the cops to uncover the evidence.

be vague, but dont make shit up. rewriting history or tailoring your story to make someone seem more guilty is a much worse offense, imo.

If some dude is arrested this week, you know he went down...but it'll just say he was arrested since he's juve.

Homie don't play that way - what they did was seriously uncool.

What's going to fuck up his life more? Getting caught and learning a lesson? Or getting away with it and learning that there are no consequences for his actions?

It's a moral dilemma, I realize. But food for thought.

Turn him in. Then when the cops give you the money hand it over to an animal shelter. Any guilt you felt from turning the turd in will be gone. If you keep the money for yourself you will always feel guilty.

Its not like the kid did a drive by shooting. If he is a juvenile nothing will happen to him anyway. But he will most likely have to pay for the damage he did, which he should do anyway.

If they had just left it with the patio furniture, I would probably have let it slide as a funny joke. But when they started throwing grills and shit into the pool, that crossed the line from juvenile fun to prickish behavior.

Agreed. I used to lifeguard ages ago and when the chairs and tables went in, we took our sweet ass time getting them out and opened the pool late. It was usually a couple of the pool rats responsible so they learned pretty quickly that if they pulled that shit the pool was opening up late. It stopped pretty quickly after that. We never reported that kind of incident to the police though. The grill is actually destruction as I am sure it is useless now.

I understand the moral dilemma if you are friends, but what this kid did was fucked up and he deserves a big slap on the wrist. Glad you did the right thing.

Now lets talk about you.
"blood money" "make coin"? goddamn kids. He vandalized a pool, but you are vandalizing the English language. How can I anonymously turn you in?

No idea. I have noticed the trend though. Like I said, I worked ages ago and when I did, it was all local neighborhood kids who grew up going to the pools. You still see some of that around in some neighborhood/community pools, but Russians and Eastern Europeans dominate the hotel and apartment complex market. They work cheaper. I am not sure, but I have als heard that it is hard to find American kids to take the jobs. If so that is about the dumbest thing in the world. It was a great job to have as a teenager. You hang out with your friends all day at a pool.

So the first time something bad happens to you, snitch. You have already gotten something coming around for not having sent something going around.
